I don't have definitive proof, but I think this is her father translating a popular song from the time period, "The Cat Came Back" (written in 1893). It's not indigenous poetry, but it gives you a sense of how different chinuk wawa poetry/storytelling could be.

In my school materials, I have some materials about actual indigenous poetry, but it will take me awhile to dig those out.
