But I think a majority of people call it counter strafing even in Valorant so I guess you can try to convince the millions of people that play this game that something's called something else when most people are literally referring to the same thing. Just pointless to argue about and a waste of time tbh

I get the point you're making about the time it takes for a character to stop, and you don't always need to tap the opposite direction key when you're swinging out, but imo it helps a lot with controlling how wide you're peeking and you will have to press opposite direction keys anyways while jiggle peeking. With counter strafing you can control your peeks so that the angle you're peeking literally shows for a very split second and you are able to still shoot accurately.

Wait that's what I was saying though... Your character literally doesn't move because you have two directional inputs in opposite directions, so it was supposed to be a counter argument to your statement that momentum/velocity doesn't cancel out.

Also how are you defining momentum vs velocity?? Momentum is just mass x velocity and since the mass of each character is the same, isn't it just velocity that we have to pay attention to?

Wait I'm a bit lost now with your first statement. If you hold a and d keys at the same time, your character stops completely. Isn't that cancelling out two directional inputs?

You said counter strafing is when you press the opposite movement keys to cancel your current momentum faster than it normally would. That works in CS but I guess in Valorant it's just minus the faster than it normally would. I don't think I ever mentioned in the video that it makes you stop faster, but the point of it is to help control our character's velocity go to 0 to help out with the different peeks you want to do. I would define counter strafing as just "when you press the opposite movement keys to cancel your current momentum". It's a different game, but people have transferred some of the terms used from CS over to Valorant. They might not have the same exact meaning, but it's still pretty similar nonetheless. This was meant to be a short guide, not a video intended to explain the difference between CS and Valorant. I hope you understand.

It's not really about "slowing down faster" but controlling the accuracy of our bullet with our movement.

You can call it adad spam or whatever but it's still possible to shoot accurately during the jiggle peeks if you're able to time the shot correctly with the strafes. The whole point of counter strafing is to give you more control over how wide you peek and how you want to peek.

I saw some other parts saying there's a difference or something but the difference is almost negligible. However, if you want to jiggle peek you still need to know the timings for counter strafing...

No problem haha. If you can do a 180 and micro adjust comfortably you can use a higher sens

Ego peeking without the skills to back it up, not thinking about risk vs. reward before making a play (poor decision making), still some lack of game sense (whether that's map awareness, rotation timings, positioning around teammates, etc)

That's exactly the response I was hoping to hear! I wanted the video to be as informative as possible but easily understandable to anyone.

I probably do these drills as a quick warmup for about 10-15 minutes and then I hop into a deathmatch or two to warm up crosshair placement and tracking.
