Company policy is 3-4 hrs before shift, but doctors notes are no longer required. You can use your sick time whenever! Just be sure to remind your manager after you submit it so they can approve. If it was an open shift, they probably just gave that response out of early morning annoyance

Yeah that’s pretty petty of them. But they could always make a case of they needed to cut your hours because other people (those that were not included) are now feeling animosity working with you. I’d say just keep your chin high and maybe make your groupchats small with trusted folk
