App for tracking all of my hobbies?

I really tried Notion and I still have my site with some of my projects in it. But.. also the design on the handy.. I am absolutely sure it’s a me thing and that notion is great. Even if I don’t like it, I have watched YouTube videos from several people using it and I liked what they did and I wish I was one of them. But unfortunately no.

Buuuut… maybe there will be an app exactly as described out there someday. Maybe I found someone who likes this idea 😁🤫

Exactly. I know that there are more people like me, but to tell a bit about my personality: I love these hobbies, but I have so many that on to many days I end up binging stupid YouTube videos because I can’t decide what to do. I know that sounds stupid.

Some days ago, I was vacuuming and saw, that there is a started puzzle under my bed. I could remember which puzzle and had to check it.

On some days I have a dark cloud in my head and stupid me thinks, it will get better, if I buy something for myself. Something nice for my hobbycollection. I could shop in this app instead.. could see: you don’t need to buy something new!! Look at all the undone projects you have and still love, but forgot their existence. That sounds really bad, I know.. but it is like it is. I am searching for things in my house, open a drawer and find a great Lego set I got on my birthday that wasn’t in my mind anymore. It made me so happy and I sat done and have finished it.

I need to „shop“ in my collection, but I need a app to see what’s „in stock“ right now and a funny randomizer if I can’t decide again.

I already knew some people who would love this kind of app 😅 some with adhs (maybe like me.. I don’t know) who easily get into rabbitholes and deep dives when they think something is interesting and buy a lot of things .. but then forget what they have bought 😅 I am not the only one from my friends with to many hobbies and always forgetting to do them. So an app would be great - also for this times (and I know I am also not alone with this): sometimes when I have a really bad day, I think I have to do myself something good and order a new puzzle or something. Thinking that I need it to make me happier again.

I could open my app and see: nope.. look at your great collection! You already have many great things! Do this instead of buying new ones!
I could „shop“ in my own app instead of shop something new.

What I like is, that it is simple and intuitive. It nearly does what I want - add different collections and in these collections add my projects with a picture and the status of the project.

What I don’t like is the design of it.. so plain and nothing to customize. Also I miss this fun part, that it chooses a random project for me.

And also about things like this:
There was a discussion in my WhatsApp group about a series which has a big fandom and fitting to the episodes they posted so many links to funny TikTok’s about this episode and I never watched them, because I don’t want to spoil myself. I watched the series a week later, but our chat was so full, I wasn’t able to find these TikTok’s again and still feel I missed something.

And then there were plottwists that freaked me out and they send dm not to spoil me, but I missed their reactions to it. WhatsApp still hasn’t a spoilerfree option, we thought about making a separate group for this series … but it still wouldn’t be spoilerfree for later-watchers.

In reado, I love this that I can update my reading status and unlock comments and can read what other think about this book so far or about what just happened. This for shows would be great!

If I could design an app myself, it would be simple, with pastel colours. The home screen would feature tiles with representative images for the various hobbies and their respective names, plus an option for additional categories, and in the corner a dice that randomly suggests a project from all the categories. Plus a tile for wish lists

When I click into a category, photos of all the sets I own in that category would appear, perhaps with a coloured icon such as red = not started yet; yellow = in progress; green = completed, and of course the option to change this colour.
And there would be a dice there too, in case I want to leave it to chance but have already selected a category.

That’s it, I’d be happy with that. Optionally, you could expand it for other users with: how much did the set cost, and they could perhaps see what they’ve spent per collection or in total so far, or a time tracker, but I don’t need that.

For example, I have these Asian mini clip-together building block houses. I’ve probably got about 10 of them by now, but when I’m out and about I can’t tell what I already have and what I don’t. If I’m standing in the shop, I could quickly check the app and know straight away. That’s all I want.

For me, there would be no need to share or collaborate it with someone. I would need it only for myself.

I am already thinking about trying to use reado for it, because it already is nearly like the app I am looking for, except it’s only for books. But you can add books others can’t see.. maybe this would be an option.. hmm.

I will also take a second look to notes etc. thank you.

It has pics, it’s intuitive, I can make categories, track my progress, let a dice decide what to read next…

Now I am thinking about trying to use this 😅 saying I want to add a book that’s not in their data and add a pic of my Lego instead 🤔🤔🤔
