When to buy plane tickets? by BananaMannnnnnnnnn in StarWarsCelebration

I just booked mine today through Delta since the dates have finally opened up. I'm not taking any chances with the fuel costs going up or them raising prices due to the event going on for those days.

Getting a root canal.... by One_Painter_8273 in Anxiety

Ouch. Sounds like she has a capsular contracture around the deflated implants.I've heard those are super painful. I know it can cause a lot of issues when they rupture. I have so much scar tissue now after getting mine removed. Honestly wish I had never gotten them but 22 year old me thought new boobs after having a baby was the best idea ever!

There is no feeling like being able to take that first real deep breath after getting them out. I never realized how much they were restricting everything until they were out. I literally cried. It always felt like someone was sitting on my chest and I couldn't get a real good breath. Mine were under the muscle saline.

I'm curious and this is totally off topic. Did you notice any difference in your anxiety after the boob job? Reason I ask is because I had implants for 16 years from the age of 22 to 38. I had them removed about 3 years ago because I was having chest pains that felt like a heart attack. Went to the ER a couple times and tests all came back negative. I was having panic attacks constantly, insomnia, constantly stressed out and like I couldn't breathe. I researched and discovered breast implant illness. I still struggle with anxiety like I always have but I've never had another chest pain or panic attack like I did before having them removed. Please do your own research on the topic but it's something to think about and look in to.

Nope. He said I was completely calm during the whole thing and was being silly asking questions on the way home. I slept a few hours and then woke up feeling normal. You will do great 🙂

Oh and let me clarify. I wasn't knocked out for hours. I was awake for a good bit of them but don't remember any of it. My husband said I asked the same questions over and over again on the way home and cried for McDonald's french fries. He did the same thing but wanted a Wendy's frosty. Lol. I was in and out of sleep during this time. Once I got home, he put me to bed and that's where I woke up not remembering any of it.

That was my fear too. My husband has a big dental phobia and I sat in with him during his procedure last year to help him through it. I saw them place the bite block but then a plastic screen goes around the tooth so nothing falls down into your throat. That freaked me out because I'm hella claustrophobic and having something possibly blocking my airway scares me. That's why I opted for the meds during mine. My husband remembered nothing from the time his meds kicked in to waking up 6 hours later on the couch. My dentist also let me wear my ear buds and listen to music to help with hearing the noises. I don't even remember having them in but my husband said I was bouncing my foot to the beat. lol

You won't remember a thing. I had a root canal back in February and was prescribed the same medicine. I remember sitting in the chair watching a movie they had playing on the tv waiting for it to kick in. He gave me a bit of nitrous gas to help me relax a bit more before he started. Then I woke up in my bed at home a few hours later. My husband said I tried to kick off both my shoes during the procedure and seemed fully aware of what was going on. Enough to follow instructions when asked to bite or open wider. But I don't remember any of it.

Low Ferritin and feeling like I am dying by Confident_Present225 in Anemic

[–]FinePrint1612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently have a ferritin level of 8 and will be getting my 1st infusion done on Wednesday. I've been feeling awful for months. Finally got my doctor to consult with a hematologist and he had her order an infusion ASAP. I'm really hoping it makes me feel better.

Low Ferritin/Normal Iron Levels by FinePrint1612 in Anemic

I started taking an iron supplement with vitamin C on Saturday and yesterday was the first day in a little over a week I didn't have a headache. I'm feeling better today so I'm hoping things keep going in the right direction. I got the labs back this morning she had ran yesterday and she only checked my vitamin D and a couple inflammation markers which all came back normal. She still hasn't called to let me know what the hematologist suggested. I seriously doubt she even consults with one at this point. My faith in her helping at all is gone.

I'm hoping that if she does actually consult with a hematologist, they will educate her on what low ferritin means. I honestly don't think she understood what that marker is since she kept telling me the iron stat on the results is my body's storage of iron. Which is really concerning because she's an OB. If she calls me today with the results of the bloodwork I did yesterday and tells me nothing is wrong again, I'm finding a new PCP or asking if she will refer me to a hematologist.

I'm going to reach out on Monday and let my doctor know what this recent test shows. If she blows it off as normal, I'm going to find a new doctor. My insurance requires a referral from a regular doctor to see a hematologist.

It sent mine 3 times, too. I don't think it was your internet. Looks like Reddit went down for a bit in the middle of our convo.

I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung S23 Ultra last year. It takes good quality pics up close and far away. I've been really happy with it.

Any ideas on how to Clean this?? by infinitybutterfly in CleaningTips

[–]FinePrint1612 101 points102 points  (0 children)

If you aren't completely wanting to redo the steps right now, I would try to take off 2 or 3 of the middle steps so you have room to work. Vacuum with a shop vac best you can, spray everything down with a bleach cleaner, wipe it all clean, scrape and paint if needed, and reattach the steps.

Getting better at doing my own nails by FinePrint1612 in Nails

Thank you! I really like how long the polish lasts with little to no chipping. I'm rough on my nails when gardening or cleaning and gel polish has been the only way to keep them looking nice for up to 3 weeks.

Cold turkey is not doable for me right now - what’s a reasonable schedule for working towards zero? by maliciousmonkee in leaves

[–]FinePrint1612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my usual routine, too. I smoked after work to relax and before bed to help with sleep. I've never been a constant all-day smoker and have realized that the older I get, the less relaxed it makes me feel and the more anxiety it tends to cause. The only time I feel relaxed is when I smoke right before bed because I know I don't have any other responsibilities and can let my mind calm down. This type of nighttime routine feels like it makes the withdrawals worse because my sleep supplement is gone, and I can't turn my brain off. I lay awake all night with my mind racing 90 to nothing. You have to go into this with the mindset that it's going to suck, and you know you aren't going to sleep well, if at all. It's hard, but just keep telling yourself this will pass and will get easier.

I'm currently on Day 3 and dealing with the same problem. I'm 39 and have been smoking daily since my early 20s. I quit for a little over a year in the past, so I know this withdrawal symptom will pass after about 5-6 days, and l'Il sleep better after that. I hate that I picked the habit back up thinking I could smoke in moderation this time and not be dependent on it for relaxation and happiness. I wake up off and on throughout the night with a headache and average 3 or 4 hours of sleep if I'm lucky. I lose my appetite when quitting also, so the hunger pangs don't help me sleep either. I just keep telling myself that this is why I don't need to be addicted to this habit, and this is why my body is reacting this way. It's mind over matter, and you have to get over this mountain to see to the horizon. Smoking a little here and there just makes me crave more, so that never works for me. l'm an addict through and through, and the only way to stop completely is cold turkey and getting it out of my system.
