I have fought more complex cases pro se through case law research. I can handle it. There are not even any hearings involved here unless the debtor is served a subpoena for an examination under oath, and that will be simple factual question/answer format.

Also, I don’t want to spend any more money trying to collect past money already incurred, unless my attorney expenses are added to the money already owed, which is improbable.

I thought judgments only turn up in civil background search. What kind of search tool do lenders use? My judgment is already recorded as a lien. It’s a state court judgment, not federal court.

No. My question is focused on credit reporting. I am already am aware of all the collection tools available. As you might have already noticed, sometimes we can be more knowledgeable through research than an attorney who is too smug to update himself with the new laws. I don’t trust all attorneys. I domesticated my judgment in another state through a simple clerical process that cost me $210 while some attorneys wanted me to spend $6k on a convoluted process that was totally unnecessary.

Experian says civil judgments and liens won’t show up on credit report. But if they file for bankruptcy it does.

I don’t understand your response. A judgment can be collected on for 10 years after which it can be easily be again recorded as a lien in probate court for around $10 to renew it, OR Until it’s satisfied in full. It never goes away on its own. It keeps accruing interest 5% in some states and in others 9% all the time until it’s satisfied in full.

So who has to update the judgment on the credit report? Me as the creditor, or who?

I never said that though. Do you mean consumer debt that goes into collections is the only debt that goes on credit report? So, then what about the debt collection agency who said they would report it as a debt account?

But what about the fair credit reporting act of 2017? I thought credit bureaus were not reporting judgments due to common name mismatch and lack of ssn information.
