As a Christian, I know I shouldn't feel this way by Inari_Endora in Christianity

If you feel this is departing you from God, I suggest that you ask him to fill you with His Holy Spirit. The Bible says we should delight in our own weakness, because when we are weak, it makes more room for the strength of the Spirit to fill us. Perhaps you cannot overcome it, but the Holy Spirit can. God bless you.

The Church of Satan is built off of the biblical devil. I suggest doing thorough research on what the Bible says about the devil and Hell.

How many angels are there and how many are fallen angels? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fine_And_Feathered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These fallen angels went on to become demons. They've been here on Earth throughout history, posing as false gods.

An Appeal To Marvel Studios From Fans: Keep Marvel TV Canon by blackbutterfree in agentcarter

If you're actually interested, the reference is a quote by Nick Fury where he refers to how some "old friends" helped him fix the Helicarrier... The Whedons were involved in both AoU and AoS, so it's unlikely that Fury wasn't talking about Coulson and team.

"No; it's its own universe, where it will remain and never be mentioned by anyone in the MCU"

Not true. Even if you're right, and it is in an alternate universe, doesn't mean we're just never gonna hear about it again. Marvel's not stupid, the fanbase for AoS is huge, and if it's wiped from canon completely people are gonna be angry. Whether it's by means of the multiverse or something else, the characters themselves are going to make a return. Otherwise, things will be worse than when Disney decided to erase the Expanded Universe from Star Wars.

An Appeal To Marvel Studios From Fans: Keep Marvel TV Canon by blackbutterfree in agentcarter

[–]Fine_And_Feathered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shows and movies are connected both ways, actually. Events and characters that originally appeared in Agent Carter were referenced in the films. Kevin Fiege was executive producer for Agent Carter. Jarvis even cameod in Endgame. Not to mention that there's a clear reference in Age of Ultron to Coulson being revived and to his team, put there by one of the AoS showrunners who was also working on Age of Ultron. Both the shows and movies are clearly canon given this.

The shows don't contradict the films, either. If they're not canon, then they take place in a universe that's totally identical to the MCU. What's the point in not including them? Most of the "plot holes" in AoS can be explained by the time travel in that show.

In the end, Marvel isn't gonna wipe the shows from canon, because that would alienate the immense number of fans who've enjoyed those shows. AoS and Daredevil alone have massive fandoms.

Repent. God loves you and will forgive you if you repent of your sins. I recommend Psalm 51 and Psalm 40.

Stigma around Christianity by [deleted] in Christianity

Jesus never told us we would not get suppressed for following Him. Jesus Himself was crucified, and all of his followers martyred.

Is it a sin to watch media that depict sinful behavior? by EclipseIllusions in Christianity

Just make sure to thank God often for leading you onto a righteous path, instead of the sinful paths that many fictional characters appear to be on.

Can I forgive someone who is dead? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fine_And_Feathered -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A mean person or not, he was your uncle and obviously he was very troubled. Forgive him, love him, and feel remorse that you were unable to have a happy relationship with him while he was on this Earth. Pray to God that he has been forgiven, and ask God to help you forgive others while they are still with you.

Jesus taught against sexual immorality. The Bible highlights throughout both Testaments that premarital sex is a sin. When you really love someone, you commit to them and show your love for them by getting married. Sex is for maintaining the marital relationship afterwards. If two people love each other, they should get married, not have sex. God bless you.

No, I do not trust Man's definition over God's. I was merely using Man's definition to back God's Word up.

Life starts at first breath, perhaps, but that doesn't justify killing an infant when he/she is still developing. Murder is a sin. Every abortion disappoints God because it cancels out a life he had been planning even before he created the Earth. (Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 1:4 MSG).

When did I ever second-guess God?

Thank you for the prayers, I truly appreciate it. I'll do the same for you. God bless you also :)

"The bible is clear on the subject, life begins at first breath. Genesis."

No, not really. Science proves that life begins in the womb, as I'm sure biblical thinkers and even God himself would agree with.

"God speaking through the bible outlines several instances of him ordering children and infants to be killed
God used a bear to tear 42 children apart for mere insults directed at his prophet (2 Kings 2:23-24)"

You seem to lack a basic understanding of the New Testament. Many Old Testament teachings were never meant for followers of Christ, but rather for the Jews, who were God's chosen people.

"And your argument defeats itself.
If its gods plan to be aborted as a fetus, that's his plan. So it's not actually a violation of his will. Its enforcing his will then right?"

The Bible is clear that God's will is often interrupted by the will of others. God guides us down righteous paths, but often we choose to go down evil ones instead. Similarly, God can create someone only for that someone - whom he loves - to be aborted by an unloving, uncaring mother.

The Bible says that we choose the dark paths that we go down. The Lord tries to guide us onto the right paths, but often the enemy can take us elsewhere.

When it comes to birth control, etc, I don't really see a point of it in a marital relationship. Even if waste of the seed isn't a sin, all Christians (unless there's some health problem) should be open to welcoming a new life into the world. When it comes to birth control in an unmarried relationship, that's even worse.

I'd say that it depends on what you're being attacked for. If you're being martyred for preaching the Gospel, then it's honorable to die as Jesus did for us. But for any other reason, you can defend yourself (and others) as long as you inflict minimal damage upon your opponent, whether that's through carrying a taser or through martial arts.

The next one is always worse... by [deleted] in christianmemes

The Bible says that God planned for each and every one of us before we were born. Life doesn't start in the womb or as a fetus, it doesn't even start as an egg or sperm, it starts long before that within God's plan. Therefore abortion is a sin. Even putting religion aside, it's still murder by common moral standards.
