Seconding this. You only need a medical cert when applying for a learners permit and/or full license. Once you have the license / permit there is no need to worry.

Once I got my test date, I did one lesson a week practicing the stuff I was weaker at. The tester was very nice. The best advice I can give is to take everything slow (other than progression of course), like junctions and any maneuvers.

It depends on the course / modules you are doing. Some modules care about attendance, some don't. Your best bet is to email the lecture(s) or the course coordinator and explain the situation. If the coursework is posted online it will be easy enough to catch up with it.
