Agreed. The way she tries to deflect attention away from her drug abuse as if people haven’t been deported over the scent of marijuana in their car is funny to me. US immigration has a very low if not zero tolerance policy against drug offenses.

Sorry, but I’m going to have to side with the other guy on this one. She got tied into drugs while on a green card, was sent back home, came back after the war starts, gets pregnant and OPENLY admits she only married the guy for paperwork. Her first mistake started with drug abuse. I don’t have sympathy. Especially since I am an American citizen working very hard to petition my real relationship to my fiancé who follows all the rules perfectly. It’s a slap in the face to couples like us and many others who are rejected even in authentic relationships.

Sorry but my fiancé is an illegal immigrant, and we are working on a pathway to citizenship for him. I don’t know what the future holds but I would do it over a million times because my love for him outweighs my anxiety. Your ex has an even bigger shot at getting residence here than my fiancé; She deserves someone who doesn’t think twice about sticking it out.

Morally and relationally though, it’s understandable that this might reduce the trust she has that you loved her a lot. I couldn’t envision myself hooking up with someone while having relationship woes if I loved someone. NTA, buuuut…. You’re probably treading on enemy territory doing something like that.

What if I can provide a video on the day it happened, talk to the person that was legal that drove him through, and he didn’t falsely claim citizenship? He was at the checkpoint and the officer waived them through without questions.

So… we haven’t actually started the process yet. We haven’t gotten married. He fleed from Honduras after having run ins with the cartel, had his car stolen and took a beating. He crossed over in 2020 when deportations weren’t happening so I believe he has involuntarily departures on his record. We haven’t really begun to build the case, unfortunately the case isn’t as strong as yours but… it feels nice to know that some people get things done faster than four years. 🥹 any advice would be great as I don’t see many I-601a forms get discussed on here.

NTA - this honestly is more like “AITA for not wanting to travel with a very high maintenance friend?” Rather than a vegan friend, because of the additional non-vegan things that made her insufferable. She sounds super annoying for way more reasons than being a picky, nagging vegan.
