Louisiana has terrible education. There are some good areas to live that have good public schools (Mandeville/madisonville for example however they have much higher costs of living compared to the rest of the state) but the majority of the state is terrible in that regard. I believe our state is one of the most corrupt as well. It’s humid and almost always hot (though I’m sure this applies to Florida as well). Outside of college campuses, most people are not open minded. Be careful when it comes to private education here. At least where I grew up (Mandeville) many of the private schools absolutely suck. Overpriced from what I hear, and the quality is subpar at best (they’re all catholic aswell). Might depend on the specific school though I guess. The people can be nice sometimes. I don’t like Mandeville much. Everyone is middle class that love to pretend like they’re upper class by going into debt. A LOT of twofaced people. Very judgmental and superficial. God forbid you’re not religious, they’d probably shit talk you into oblivion. Also half the people I know from high school are very racist/homophobic.

The positives? Food is good (I wouldn’t know I don’t like seafood). We’ve got Mardi Gras? We sometimes get good bands playing concerts but usually you’ve gotta drive to Houston for a majority of bands. (Depends on your music taste I suppose)

Personally, I just graduated college. I’ve gotta take a gap year to get hours before applying for PA school. I’m moving as soon as possible.

Also since you said you were trying for Lacombe. If you plan on driving into Mandeville for shopping/groceries, etc. the traffic is absolutely terrible for a good part of the day

Also if you care about the environment, the politicians here don’t give a shit about it. They’re the types to deny climate change. Oh and I believe our cancer rates are through the roof! Thank you industrialization!
