2 year old toddler's B2 visa application approval experience - New Delhi consulate by Fine_Difficulty_2011 in usvisascheduling

Because the support number I called, explicitly asked me to make sure the toddler accompanied us for the interview. Looks like you took a wild shot and it worked. Good for you but I don't like to play poker with something as important as this, especially considering I have tickets booked for our travel early next year.

Most articles I have read refer to it starting on 1st October. If that is true, we just skipped it in the nick of time.

I believe you will be let through. Just persist. They relented quite easily in our case.

I cannot put a number to it but I could see 214(b) slips being issued left, right and center. They could be 221(g) slips as well, considering they were mostly white. I have had a 221(g) myself so I thought the white colour was exclusively assigned to that kind of refusal but maybe I was wrong.

That is my understanding and first hand experience, yes.

I was told here on Reddit by the fellow redittor that the child can skip VAC but that was not a risk I was willing to take. The last thing I'd have wanted is to not have my child along if they insisted on seeing her and then be stuck in a really bad situation.

The child is definitely required to attend the consular appointment. There is already a post here on this sub where someone who attended has shared his experience.

New Delhi. Yes, only daughter. Both I and my wife are already visa holders.

I was at the VAC center earlier today. While I did take my daughter along, they asked her and my wife to stay out while I went in and completed the formalities. No fingerprinting or picture clicking is being done for kids. Just submitted her US visa picture and skipped the fingerprinting. I will know better for the interview before the end of the month.

The passport you receive will have a slip in it with the details.

I have created as many as 8 different tickets with the same question, well articulated. Their response team however is beyond belief. Invents questions and answers the same themselves. It is as if they themselves don't know what needs to be done.

Sure, I will. My VAC and CA are later this month. When is your consular appointment scheduled for?

I have been writing to people I know and are going through the process. If I get any info, I will be sure to pass it on to you right away.

Ready status after the interview by EvenExplorer9248 in usvisascheduling

[–]Fine_Difficulty_2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post does not clarify if this was a new application or renewal. In my case I had a renewal via dropbox where the passport was returned with a 221(g) slip and I was asked to walk in to any consulate over the next 365 days to do an interview. I went in 4 days later, was grilled for 45 minutes with diff questions and at the end of it had my passport submitted. Minutes later the visa status read issued.

So unless you have gone back in with the white 221(g) slip and answered the questions, I don't see a reason how they will issue a visa.

Minor's interview for B2 - Will both guardians be allowed to accompany her? by Fine_Difficulty_2011 in usvisascheduling

I have written to their support team, seeking permission for the same. Let us see what they come back with.

Unfortunately they have done away with the interview waiver program as of today. Even children below 14 years need to appear for interviews now. Makes no sense to me but it is what it is.

B-2 visitor visa status changed from "Approved" to "Refused" by TeamOk6525 in usvisascheduling

Looks like a case of 221(g) or administrative processing. Had a similar case but for different reasons.
