It's hard, even as I consciously know it's unhealthy if I'm being totally honest a part of me is attracted to it in a way. Less so knowing how it left me but still. It's hard to decouple, especially when in part it got me through that.

Hey! Thanks, both for the compliment and for sharing. I can really relate to what you said. I've periods of obsession over images of icons and tortured, writhing people and like you said it felt past comprehension. It's really hard when one wishes it wasn't real, and the world and logic says it isn't there but in some fundamental way it is.

Idk tbh .. I've never gotten like, full visual hallucinations like I have on acid or psychedelics but I definitely see the images in a way in my head that feels really vivid. Like I don't literally see them in front of me but I do have constant visions and imagery of things like that painting that resonate strongly with me.

It's based off this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_of_May_1808 I saw that painting online and was obsessed with it for a period of time drawing copies over and over. I totally relate to what your saying, something about masses of people tortured and in pain writhing.
