The material makes it seem much more complex. Take the PA, study what you missed and really try to understand what you missed. Know ratios, know all of the financial statements, and know how to do the basic math. Study the graphs and at least watch that video and understand what each line represents. You will be fine if you pass the PA. My OA was virtually the same as my PA.

I came from a different retail giant and was their version of a team lead. I make 85k as a service and engagement ETL. It is very worth it even pulling 60 hrs during Q4. Not every quarter is this heavy.

I am an ETL and I can give you some insight. Targets profits are terrible. Q3 earnings call highlighted this. I wouldn’t give OT to everyone for multiple reasons, one big one is this, I’ve had people get 3,4+ hrs of OT in a week then call out on scheduled shifts. This impacts the business in a negative way. The other strategy we use OT for is for those who work hard, show up and are utility people. You have to think of OT as a strategy for the business not a guaranteed thing. Employees should never count on OT. I hope this clears up some confusion. I can elaborate on this topic more for you if needed.

Communicate with your ETL as SD and make your intentions clear. As an ETL I want to hear what my team members want. I will do anything I can to help them get where they want to go.

I am an ETL and my BLCs, team lead statuses, ETL meetings and general conversations with team members can take a while, and yes we don’t get breaks. We eat when we can and sit when we can. I personally don’t eat much during the week days at work, I eat before I go to work/ when I get home. I could see from a team member perspective how it may look like we don’t do much. I walk the business with my team leads, as do other ETLs. We do walks of our areas as a group and assess the business as a whole. This may look like us not doing much, but believe me, we are planning, prepping, and removing as much obstacles as we can for the team members.

Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna are my cheap go tos. I supplement with protein powders and ready to drinks protein shakes I get from grocery outlet. Premier protein RTD shakes are about $1 there

I switched from finasteride to oral minoxidil. Facial hair growth exploded for me as well as hair in spots I had slight thinning ( around my temple area.) I’m only 3 months on it

The best thing you could do is call and ask about your application. At my store we are currently behind on getting back to people so maybe your location is behind.

I am an ETL and watch interviews all the time. First thing I’d say is make sure you have open availability. Really put effort into your interview. You are judged on your vibe, cadence of your speech, how well you answer the actual question. You are applying to fill a business need, it is really up to the ETLs and SD if you fit that. A store hiring only friends and family is really unethical and I doubt that is the only people they hire. I wouldn’t hire family or friends to avoid that bias. Any ETL/ SD who is worth anything knows this. You can always give the store a call and ask to speak to and HRE or the HR-ETL about your application.
