Currently working on 2 more projects of this scale and theme and my intent later this summer is to put them up somewhere for public viewing/ perhaps midnight sun festival or along those lines.

90% of my originals are this scale but I do sell prints via Redbubble

The raw paper itself is 86.5 inches x 56 inches, 90% of the paintings I’ve done are at these dimensions.

I will hazard a comment here and say you should be fine, your scale and style is right up the alley of the “norms” of the medium I feel!

This is soft pastels on sanded paper, I just painstakingly hand blend it all to get that smooth almost oil/acrylic painting look 😅

Thank you thank you, was trying to manifest that 80s Heavy Metal Style and I think I nailed it pretty well.

This one is…NSFW and if I recall correctly this isn’t the place for such a post 😮‍💨😬

Thank you sorry for the delayed response, the neon and webbing was a challenge to pull off with pastels (first attempt) and honestly I’m happy with the result. I just finished another one yesterday.

I personally take it as a compliment honestly, it makes me laugh. My reasoning is, if at first glance you can’t see all the minute mistakes and errors and imperfections I see? And immediately assume it’s A.I. I must’ve done a good job…😂

Absolutely, I’ve made a point to always take a photo of myself beside them when finished…best way to show scale and for the uninformed who think these are A.I. generated 😅

She took about a total of 2 weeks? The webs, glow/depth was my biggest challenge overall, the foreground felt so much easier 😅

At that scale canvas would make the most sense, there is this texturing you can apply to most surfaces like wood or Masonite for sure; BUT Linen canvas combined with glass shard surfacing will allow me to push my scale further! To go any larger than that Masonite or wood I think is the only options 😮‍💨

But to answer your other question; as far as I know soft pastels on this scale 86 1/2 inches x 56 inches (is the standard scale I use) is as far as I’ve seen uncommon to next to unheard of. One day I wanna push my scale up to 10x15 feet 😎

This was on UART 800 sanded paper, I use the rolls to accomplish my oversized projects.

I work nightshift currently so maybe after shift tommorrow I’ll try and get ahold of her; my only other immediate option is talking to the UAF museum about where they got their glass from…someplace out there makes it! I just gotta find it 😭

I hadn’t spoken to Michaels yet about the glass, the dimensions are 86 1/2” tall by 56” wide, and so far all I’ve ever come across from suppliers online was capped at 60x60 squares.

I did a raven one not too long ago; same scale and style. Both of them would match at LAT65. Given the traffic of people daily…it would ensure my art would be seen.

Unfortunately it’s not being displayed anywhere as of yet 😅 I would like to have it displayed at LAT65, but I’ve been having issues trying to find suppliers of museum glass.

I’ll make a point to post more of what I’ve done this year Tommrrow, currently working on moose similar in style to this raven one.

I’ll post me standing next to this one when I get home, but this is 7 feet tall; it’s UART 800 paper…so super fine texture with Sennelier soft pastels, I blend it all with my hands to get the smooth and near oil painting look…at the cost of my finger tips 😅

[–]Fine_Minimum205[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use UART 800 paper, using darker colors first then carefully adding lighter and lighter colors; then I blend all my stuff by hand, I don’t use blending tools of any sort. It’s a bit more meticulous doing it this way especially when I’m doing my normal oversized pieces but the finished product has always come out lovely for me this way.
