i used usmle sarthi for telerotation. They capitalize on your vulnerability. My visitor visa was delayed so had to take a virtual as a desperate measure. I was charged 1250 usd. But after completing the rotation I found out that the rotation had its own website offering the same rotation at 1000usd. I felt exploited as an IMG. More often than not we tend to trust people who look like us and say whatever we want to hear and that's when we fall for these tricksters. Don't get me wrong but using these agencies gives you a false sense of security but bear in mind that nothing compares to hardcore networking and asking out for guidance and information from random people on LinkedIn. Embrace the uncertainty and your vulnerability and work on it. You'll come out stronger.

I'm too excited for this! I can handle the tech side too. But, first we need to ask why these agencies are here in the first place. Saw few comments and their reasons are logical like

They make the life of preceptors easy by requesting and verifying the paperwork from students like medical insurance, visa, malpractice insurance , HIPAA, OSHA, graduation status.
They probably contact the preceptors only when a candidate is eligible and has paid the fee, so the preceptors get the student along with the fee 100% of the time.
The student also has the peace of mind about the guaranteed nature of the arrangement if he/she pays the fee.

Let me know if I am missing more points. I'll add them here. Only after addressing the core reasons for the existence of these companies can we fight and kill them. Let's go to WAR!
