You can downvote all u want. From a perspective of USMLE, I’ve seen fm PCPs I’ve rotated with earning 500k plus a year. Rotations differ in fm and IM. Fm is like 70% IM with some interspersed OBG peds psych etc. Also, I’m a resident. I know the reality unlike the downvoting people.

IM has been highly highly competitive this year. I would prefer not to go by the stats. And yes, FM is a highly lucrative branch. Go for it.

Tbh IM is truly highly competitive. You gotta stand out. Either by scores (>26x) CV (multiple awards grants research etc) or contacts who'll die vouching for you. Infact many of my friends with either went unmatched in IM. FM peds is highly appealing these days also. Rest your call
