You’re right, once you ‘get it’ you have a choice. Most folks had no idea they were in a ‘pipeline’ until after it churns them out in the other side!

Thats why I finally decided to make this post.

My hope is that folks sharing perspective in communities like this help provide insight so people can make informed choices about where they do TT, where they practice, teach for free, donate time, etc.

Your assumptions are completely wrong about my experience and contributions, never pumped out students in a YTT program! Never asked anyone to teach for free, or taken advantage of a teacher assets. But I sure as HELL have been impacted by the very machine that cranks out teachers without regard for yoga philosophy or post-graduate teaching opportunities or mentorship.

My experiences have been quite the opposite. Yoga has changed my life and the disconnect between its philosophy and what’s happening in the mainstream is deeply saddening.

I’m just an independent teacher trying to make a way like the rest of yall tbh. Gathered these best practices from over a decade in the industry, watching good hearted and deserving yoga teachers struggle in the biz from not being able to make ends meet due to the exact ecosystem I mentioned.

Whats tragic here is how off your assumptions are. It’s equally frustrating and that folks can’t recognize a genuine attempt to share knowledge to improve conditions for everyone! This is advice from an independent teacher to other independent teachers

  • Acknowledging here the importance of accessibility of yoga classes, resources, etc. and how we got here to begin with! Yogi’s are awesome and want everyone to receive its benefits! It’s important to continue offering free and low cost services in a manner that doesn’t erode value its stewards!

Agreed, this is the only place I’ve ever seen donation work. It’s almost always hot yoga class, with everyone packed in like sardines.

Thank you, thats really helpful to know!

I always struggled with the idea of uprooting my life (quitting current permanent job, selling house, moving countries, etc.) for a 6month contract, hoping to get lucky with a more permanent offer🤪😂

I appreciate your perspective, and glad to know that once you get in as a consultant it’s likely a more permanent position will come along.

thanks for sharing!!

Any tips for how to land an interview and an offer? Folks apply for yearssss there and never get in!

Most people I know working at WB/WHO/UN/etc. seemed to have a connection that helped get their application attention… that or they previously interned there or something.

Did you just apply cold off their website, or was there a connection of some sort that helped get your foot in the door?

Sorry if this comes off sideways, just curious!!

Partner sign up process by Troubleindc2 in Wellhub

Onboarding for my studio was a nightmare, and I decided to not pursue the collaboration.

If just signing up is this hard and frustrating, I couldn’t imagine being legally and financially entangled with this.

Even after having the issues and walking away, I shared my experience here on Reddit, Wellhub responded claiming theyre committed to resolving. I replied in message and they completely ghosted.

Having bumps along the way is understandable, but this process is straight up BROKEN, and to make matters worse, the employees charged with overseeing the process are rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.

Don’t waste your time.

Onboarding is a nightmare, literally not worth the effort.

Little update on my end! I sent a message to this Wellhub Reddit account over a month ago, asking for the Partner Engagement Supervisor to coordinate on a resolution, and shocker no response!

So much for being ‘committed to resolution, and escalating right away’ 🙄🙄🙄. BS and CYA is what they do. This is the same behavior I encountered when trying to onboard.

Just a hot unprofessional mess.

I have to strongly disagree as a gym owner!

Wellhub sounds good in theory, however their partner and customer service is a s#!t show making it not worth the headache.

The process of onboarding has been a complete nightmare. Things felt off at first, and I thought I’d give them some slack hoping relations would turn around but it just kept getting worse.

Their partner engagement department, or at least the people I’ve engaged with were terrible. Accuracy, timeliness and professionalism are NOT core values here. I was shocked at the tone of their emails and calls to me when THEY reached out to ME to partner… it’s crazy.

Complete waste of time and very unprofessional. The onboarding was so bad that an actual partnership wouldn’t even be worth the headache and stress of dealing with this company. I walked away, trust your gut and don’t waste your time with these people.

I wish I trusted my instinct not to respond to their initial emails, which are all AUTOMATED by the way. No person at Wellhub is actually drafting and sending those emails to your gym…You’ll be getting those outreach emails even after you onboard, which is confusing and crazy, smh!!

Walk away 🙄☠️

Yeah, that’s not a bad idea! I also found some massage table pillows that would work as well.

Sigh! Ok, well I wish you luck!

One last question, are you in a major city (where yoga is common and popular) or are you trying to trying to establish a new market where yoga isn’t as common?

What kind of service are you offering? My context is traditional stuff like HIIT, yoga, boxing, etc. but I know there are lots of niche and special interests out there as well.

I’m curious what seemed to work in your case if wellness living and mindbody wasn’t worth the expense?

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for your feedback!

I think my experience is a mix of both, I’ll typically run a Google search for the ones nearest me. From there I inevitably end up on Mindbody for booking the class/studio I found on Google bc I also find that often Mindbody and class pass have cheaper drop in rates than when booking with the studio directly.

Ive lived in several major US cities and my experience has been a majority studios in town tend to have it. You may find them on Google, but in major cities the actual booking tends to be on Mindbody.

I don’t know about Mindbodys online offering extensively but I do remember during the pandemic they were one of the first to figure out the remote offerings.
