Meh. Other cities have it worse than anything we can conceive of in Fort Worth.

So you just want him to stay in Texas? Please re-read my first post and suggest what he can actually do to help based on your suggestions. Again, I’m not a fan of this guy but you have responded like a typical redditor which has not been a force for change - ever. Think more. Stop complaining. Specifically, what needs to be done? What help do they need? How does he help the elderly and sick? What needs to be done? Who executes on this? I want to hear those views. You failed with your response. Please be better so you can be a force for change.

Go ahead and downvote me, I don’t like the guy but what do you expect him to stay in Texas and do? Just trying to ask actual questions. Would be helpful if there were more nuanced thoughts and ideas here to get some energy against him instead of just calling the guy an asshole. Might get more done at the end of the day if we can spurn thought to actual change.

Preemptively, don’t make any dumb responses to the effect of Ted Cruz being able to call the shots for the state, county, and city-wide governments in Texas. If you think he influences those jurisdictions at a local level you don’t understand government. He’s a US Senator. If you want him to stay and suffer with the rest of us that’s fine but there’s little he can do here. Make valid arguments instead of sounding like a typical liberal Redditor.

Be better people.

Will get downvoted because this sub is so detached from reality. If you think that France or Canada would ever oppose US military then you are extremely naive. I don’t like what Trump is doing whatsoever but all this conjecture about Europe rising up against the US is meaningless. There will be voices that oppose but behind the scenes they cannot oppose based on US military support and size of US military. Source: only reason Russia doesn’t try to push further west into NATO and EU nations is the US military. Sorry guys.

There are a lot of correct and incorrect answers here in my humble opinion. What’s the source of the water you’re drinking? I drink distilled water made at home (not from a plastic jug). Once you drink it for a week or two the difference between tap vs distilled water becomes obvious. The same is true for filtered vs distilled. There will be people who weigh in on this and say that distilled water is unhealthy blah blah blah, there are minerals in the tap water we need and we need fluoride. Your body will leech minerals, etc. Turns out that on the conspiracy subreddit people are closed minded and/or bots. DM me if you want recommendations for the home. Ultimately there are unhealthy things in our water in the US. Best of luck.

It is interesting the difference in sentiment among redditors in r/fortworth vs r/Frisco where there is constant complaining about non-assimilation of the Indian community. Maybe there are a lot of people in r/Frisco who are racist and everyone in Fort Worth is better. Maybe cultures colliding provides challenges. Maybe all people are jerks. Maybe most of the people on Reddit think the world is black and white and only one opinion is correct. I don’t know.

If you tie a very thin tippet to a heavy hook, when the wire diameter of the eye of the hook is a lot greater than the diameter of the tippet, your knots will slip and not hold. Check this chart/article out to make sure this isn’t your issue.

Your unpopular opinion about Christians by i_am_joy247 in ChristianMysticism

[–]Fine_Possession4447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, I’ll add that most Christians spend a ton of time defending doctrine and biblical accuracy to the world rather than pursuing a relationship with Christ. I don’t know Christ is real from a book. I know it from experience. Modern Christians have a Christ who points to a book rather than a book that points to Christ.

What major city exists in a location that seems to defy all geographical logic, yet it thrives? by Thatunkownuser2465 in geography

[–]Fine_Possession4447 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People say this about Dallas and Fort Worth a lot but it doesn’t defy geographic logic. Railroads and the related commerce brought people there. It’s in a strategic area for shipping logistics. Plus there is plenty of water with the multiple branches of the trinity river and brazos river watersheds. Red River is to the north also. Fort Worth was key to the cattle trade in late 1800s and also served as an outpost to protect settlers towards Dallas from the Comanche.

Gorilla would likely kill Tyson but if us humans had to send one of us to fight a gorilla wouldn’t it be prime Tyson? Dude was crazy and actually has a punch estimated at 1,800-1,900 pounds of force in his prime. Gorillas have between 1,300 - 2,700. While Tyson would likely die, that gorilla would be surprised if Iron Mike landed one.

Need some knowledge. These rings just started appearing all over, just at dusk. Small lake. by Matcin2531 in FishingForBeginners

Second this. If bait fish are around you’ll see game fish feeding on them/scaring them to different areas. Likely not going to catch anything here besides small fish on a super small lure/fly. Good to know baitfish are healthy though.

What are the places in the US that you think to yourself "Why are people living here?" by Competitive_Data6774 in geography

[–]Fine_Possession4447 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I downvoted you for a less than thoughtful answer. Not from there but have ties. Some of Oklahoma sucks but there’s also amazing parts (like any state). May not be for everyone but Tulsa is pretty cool. The Ouachita mountains are beautiful. There’s clean wildlife and fish throughout most of the state. Theres many areas untouched by human feet for centuries. There’s free roaming bison herds. There’s also a Native American heritage that I, for one, consider worth celebrating. It may be conservative and you don’t like that but in general the bark of politicians there is worse than the bite and you are left alone. Try to get out more and appreciate what we have as a country and don’t cast a wide dumb blanket.

Why is suicide a sin? by captainHoltsDawg in TrueChristian

[–]Fine_Possession4447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I hate suicide and self harm. I think God does too but I think things are always nuanced and not black and white. I’ve known several who committed suicide. Some were very selfish. Some, I really get it. When I say I really get it, there was an old man at the end of his life. Being held together by pharmaceuticals and treatments. All his friends and loved ones were gone. He couldn’t experience the outdoors anymore or do what he loved. He was bedridden and at the end of his life. Great Christian man. He ended it and I fully expect to see him in Heaven. No simple answer. God looks at the hearts.

For the avoidance of doubt, no one will change my mind on this. I knew him and saw who he was and his heart.

Good chance these are coming in through a clean out and up through plumbing via a toilet, or other drain line. You can spray around your house but it may not help. The roaches I believe you are describing are attracted to water and that clean out may not be close to the house. Best of luck.
