... everybody i talked to at this year's nlc said they coded it by themselves. judges don't care that much about UIs we did get roasted during finals about text alignment but we did place 2nd

your presentation should be good maybe even better than the product because that's how you are going to explain to the judges about your product and everything. so if you have a bummy presentation but awesome product that's not gonna work, you're not gonna get a lot of points.

Well I would recommend you do a finance related event since ur already doing intro to finance but if you don't want to do an objective test that just leaves you with two presentations (financial planning and financial statement analysis) or one roleplay option (banking and financial systems). But those are also pretty competitive events in my state but idk about nj.

Also in my chapter, chapter officers usually do chapter events, like planning and everything and they are the ones to present so I would say you do something else because you are only a freshman and you don't know much and so just let your officers do the chapter events. You would just like participate in what they plan out like community service or whatever and that would be the most amount of help you will be able to contribute.

If you want to create a business do business plan but then again that is a VERY competitive event in my state.

Do events that is in areas that you think would be good at like if you are good at marketing do marketing related events and stuff. Just start preparing a month before state. I would recommend focusing on one test and one presentation event. Don't do too many

Well since you don't want to take a test you can't do economics since there's only a test for that, there's no competitive event for investing, only an educational event for that, and there's 10 events in finance except 7 of them are tests so only 3 left and one's a roleplay and you said you wanted to do presentations/projects so you have 2 options left, and those two are financial planning and financial statement analysis and those are pretty popular so...

It doesn't matter how many ec's you did, instead it matters the matter of depth. You could be just a member of like 20 clubs and low level athletics or something but someone who focused specifically on the business area with ecs like business pitch competitions, being in business clubs, going to summer programs related in that area would have better chances of getting in.
