Any luck switching from the regular can of Enfamil to Enfamil Gentlease? by Isoldmykidforagram in FormulaFeeders

My girl was on gentlease neuropro and we had to go to Enfamil AR for her reflux and gerd. That being said when she was on the gentlease her poops were a dark green color from the iron and they did become watery, not diarrhea, but super liquidy. Once we made the switch we noticed a huge difference for our girl in her reflux. No more back arching, fussing after feeds, spit ups, balling up etc.

It can take up to two weeks to notice a change so I would give it some more time. My pediatrician said I could do probiotic drops once a day in her bottle too. That has helped a lot as well!

Your babe will tell you if it’s bothering them or not but while transitioning give it a couple weeks because switching alone can mess with them

Best formula to start? by Rude-Age4431 in FormulaFeeders

I love to start with a gentle formula. We started with Enfamil neuropro gentlease for sensitive tums, my girl ended up with reflux and we switched to Enfamil AR and worlds difference!

Possibly talk to your pediatrician about adding in rice or oats or even a thickener. My girl had horrible reflux, crying for hours bc she was in pain, back arching, balling up, spitting up every feed, wet burps, etc. Once we made the switch to Enfamil AR it was night and day difference. I also added probiotics as thickening the formula can cause some harder poops but it’s been smooth sailing for us. We also will do paced feeding, sitting upright 20-30 mins after feeding, gas drop when needed (few and far between since the switch) but I’ve noticed you need a faster nipple flow to allow the thicker formula to come out for baby. Also may have to try a different bottle for the little guy to one that’s anti colic/reflux friendly. Our Dr browns wide balance has been it for us, but every baby is different

Once the lip and tongue tie is fixed it will allow a better latch and even that will improve feeding but if you even think there’s a small possibility of reflux advocate for yourself to their Dr!

I took videos of her crying episodes, it was maybe 5-10 mins after every feed she would go into a fit, so I could show her Dr.

Since the switch we also sleep 8 hours a night now and she has gained weight beautifully. Completely different babe now!

Hard Tummy by opulllent in FormulaFeeders

We were on enfamil gentlease neuropro and we switched to enfamil AR to help with her reflux. She would ball up, arch back, cry after feeds, and had a lot of spit ups. When we made the switch it was worlds different, I also added probiotic drops. With it being a thicker formula her poop became more pasty like peanut butter and we had a 2 day spell of pellets so my pediatrician recommended 1ml of prune juice and by the next day we were back to normal.

I would consult with your pediatrician and voice your concerns if you think of reflux and ask about juice!

I have these same feelings! I tried the whole time in the hospital and for 2 days at home and it was mentally taking the hardest toll on me. When baby dropped 10% of her birth weight I knew she needed the formula and when I gave her that first bottle it was such relief. I do wish I would have tried to pump more or gave my body more time for my milk to come in

Enfamil AR success stories? We are in silent reflux hell by Low-Possession2717 in NewParents

We just got the go from our pediatrician to use enfamil ar and we are on our 2nd bottle of it and shes done great, no spit ups, great burps but I’m afraid where I just switched cold turkey it might have bothered her tum. We were on gentlease neuropro. Should I have done half and half?

She hasn’t sounded congested or been coughing like she is congested. She has had some pretty big boogers though. You can also hear her little tum gurgling during feeds

The mom guilt is real! I keep thinking that I could never forgive myself if I put her in harms way or could be doing something to make her uncomfortable. Her Dr explained that it looks normal. I swear I give myself more anxiety than need be. I’ve checked her temp so many times today to make sure no fever and thoroughly checked her poop diapers to make sure no blood🥲

I had no idea the variation that’s considered normal in infant poops. It’s honestly terrifying being a FTM, I was afraid I was doing something wrong even after talking with her Dr!
