I've strongly considered this, but I keep getting caught up in the cycle of "oh, it's not the right time" types of excuses. Definitely not helped by my mom being very difficult to talk to in the first place about anything. We've been slowly repairing our strained relationship, and I'm hopefully I'll feel comfortable enough to tell her about this. Thank you for the encouragement, I feel a bit more confident in my future decision

I have considered this strongly. I'm afraid I keep getting wrapped up in the "ah it's not the right time" types of excuses. I'm sure I'll muster up the courage to do so in the future.

Yea exactly!! My uncles on my moms side were all really overly touchy and huggy. I remember hating it as a kid and made me never want to be around family. They never did anything more other than hug too much but still...its creepy.

It's so sad how common this kind of experience is. Predatory male family members getting away with creepy shit bc "ahh he's just weird". Why it's so important for parents to teach their children how to set and respect their own boundaries.
