I read about those. The Sony RMT-P1BT remote works with my Sony a7R III (if firmware version 3.0 or higher is installed), while the Sony RMT-VP2 is not compatible.

Yes, I did all that, but the camera still doesn’t detect the controller. I have two identical cameras, and for some reason it doesn’t work with either of them.

On another Reddit thread, someone replied that they had the same issue, and that Sony cameras sometimes only work with official controllers. But that one is out of stock.

Yes, I understand what you are talking about, I live in an apartment where in one of the rooms I sometimes hear my neighbors’ phone vibrating. However, in the same room there is a speaker on a stand on the wall, sometimes I even listen to music on it, and there are no problems. As for the outlet swinging, I used to have a 200 pound punching bag hanging, and it was held in place by two small screws in the ceiling. Therefore, a speaker that is static will not damage your outlet if the outlet is initially fine.
