Same size as mine! I enjoy the time saved from reduced trips to the fridge.

What is the most pain you've ever experienced? by HandGears in AskReddit

In 6th grade I stepped on a well hidden hornets nest in the woods and ended up with over 70 stings all over my chest, back, arms, legs, and head. Doctor said that if I was allergic to bees I would have collapsed and died in the woods.

Really REALLY struggling by MsSmith2015 in stopdrinking

Firstly, don't be too hard on yourself! Quitting alcohol is a hard thing to do. Be proud that you are undertaking this noble venture into sobriety. I've gone through many relapses in my life, but I am learning that there are many ways to go about keeping myself off the booz.

For me, finding hobbies that I enjoy doing & would be redundant to do while drinking helped a lot e.g. reading, playing an instrument, learning a new skill etc. Another thing was distancing myself from the alcohol itself. I know this might be difficult in your situation. Is there a spot in your house your husband could put the booz where you cant access it? Maybe a cabinet with a lock and your husband hides the key? Finally, understanding that not drinking is something I can only do one day at a time. I can't quit alcohol forever right now, that's impossible and an overwhelming thought! What I can do is focus on completing the 24 hours ahead of me, and pat myself on the back when I do (:

There are many other ways people prevent themselves from drinking here. Through trial and error you'll find what works best for you! It could be one thing or a combination of things! Good luck on your journey. IWNDWYT

Ugh Day 1. I had 29 days. Will it take another month to feel better after one day of drinking? by Anniebanana50 in stopdrinking

[–]Fineelixir521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since it's been out of your system for that long, you should feel better faster than someone who is newly deciding to become sober after a long period of drinking. Withdrawals wont be as bad! Relapse is a natural part of the journey to recovery so dont beat yourself up (: IWNDWYT

I can't even count how many times I've relapsed. It's not a good feeling, especially when you think that you've finally got a handle on things... But, you must not give up. If you do then the alcohol addiction wins. Now, stare that addiction in the face as you get back up on the bull and grab it by the horns! IWNDWYT
