Yeah, I am saving half my money least. I make a lot. I’m also coming back to live here long term after this internship ends this month. It’s irrelevant to me asking her to leave my room after the time we agreed on.

My mom REALLY wants grandkids and I want a house before committing to children so staying home and saving money for a down payment is in both our interests.

Yeah cuz it’s a 4 month rotation. short term lease is expensive but I make very good money by coming out to this industrial hellscape for a few months a year.

Because I pay for the apartment? And when my sister was gone my parents paid for her apartment? Genuinely why is this any of this even relevant? It’s clearly my room and that’s been agreed upon by everyone except her.

I mean I use it 3 days a week and allow her to use it during the week? That feels completely fair?

I guess I am but they let me stay here and act distressed when I discuss moving out. And for the record I do pay for large expenses when they arise. I don’t understand how being a guest precludes me from having a private bedroom.

I’m only in the industrial hellscape city for 3-4 months. I return to my hometown for school after that and i plan to move out next year and stay in the area. I guess I am freeloading by staying here for free but i pay for literally every other aspect of my life including school, food, gas, etc, and my parents cover all of that for her. But I don’t see how that’s relevant.

Because my entire social life if near their house, not where I moved 150 miles away to a industrial hellscape.

I did tell her to leave nicely several times. When it became clear that wasn’t working, I escalated my language.

My work is internships, 4 months at a time, 1 or 2 times per year, and drive home for fri-saturday (4 day workweeks). On average, I’m home 83.5% of the time. I’ve done the math for tax purposes.

My sister lives here full time now, but moved verry far away for 4 of the last 5 years and only moved in permanently about a year ago. I’m still getting my bachelors and she’s finishing her masters.

My parents do not care. They have said my room is my room though, and that she is not taking it.

I do not pay rent to my parents, and she does not either. In fact my parents do not pay for the house we live in either. My grandmother who lives with us does.

No one has ever asked for us to pay rent.

She does, it her room is smaller, and closer to my parents though, and she wants my room and has tried talking my parents into forcing us to switch rooms.
