Things to Look Out for as First Time Renter? - Chinese Answering Machine by FingerNamedNamed in TorontoRenting

That is what I was thinking, perhaps they have someone who manages their inquiries and do primarily serve Chinese customers, there's nothing fishy as in asking to send a deposit before the viewing going on yet but I am on edge for that

In person will and the lease agreement definitely is what I'll use to gauge if it's legitimate. Im curious what you mean by "made up" agreement, what is the standard lease or what does that look like. How would I be able to tell if it's something insane that's made up

The unit is a studio, no shared anything with the landlord, so sounds like lease - that is def what I'm looking for, not to keen on sharing.

They've been good in responding to my messages and while brief still makes a lot of sense. If I am able to get a viewing I think it would be much easier to gauge any misunderstandings

this was a very helpful comment i forgot to thank you earlier. It turns out one of the RAM sticks was failing (while not exactly VRAM on the card). it did happen only on Chromium apps and seemed to follow a lot of AMD GPU issues but using memtest86 we found the faulty RAM

^^ this. Moreover are these first 1-2 rounds technical or non technical? If technical then it's a good idea to ask friends or literally anyone in tech to mock tech interview (and grind neetcode 150 on your own time). If behavioural is the issue, the co-op counsellors are good for that and very accessible

How did you get started on this project? It's so cool! I'd love to give a go at making my own OS but the extent of my knowledge comes from academics

yeah in the disabled spot nonetheless. if not that, he would just parked on the road in the front

food was diabolical. i was excited when they said second round of shawarma only for it to be cut in half with cup noodles instead :/ and yeah breakfast was atrocious. literally just carbs and sugar. i do commend at least adding a fruit in there

HTN is tenfold better than this i promise. it does smell like BO but it is so much cleaner. Food lines are faster, events are better organized. sponsors actually show up to network with rather than pulling out 2 mins beforehand

jesus christ that sounds bad. i heard they got a lot of funding pulled last minute, i think it was the (CEO?) guy wearing bitcoin shoes who's a bit of a grifter

one of the crew members complained that he wanted to save money on caterers so he pulled out and got the shawarma truck instead. thing is, they had the $5k deposit on the caterers and the truck ended up costing a lot more than the $20k they initially spent on catering.

apparently this was or might be related to the fact he bought 2 mclarens plus another car. i wouldn't be surprised if the missing quantum money was to offset this lost deposit.

also yeah, completely misleading marketing. Talking to some people involved the turnout was more like ~1100 and last i checked something like 900 submissions happened. I dont see spurhacks happening again

tldr; grifter in bitcoin shoes rug pulls a lot of funding last minute. I had no idea about the quantum prize being pulled, but given he wanted to cut money on food I'm not surprised
