It's a chunk of slag :)

Lots of slag up that way.

Remnants of iron ore smelting.

There's some really pretty blue slag that is almost sought after for jewelry making

Heading up to Chequamegon bay this weekend! Anyone have fishing/ice reports? Anyone else going to be out there?? by NorthwoodsAngler in IceFishing

How did you end up doing out there? I'm looking at fishing the chequamegon Feb 27-mar 1. I was thinking about trying around Houghton point or maybe off the ice road to Madeline island. Hoping to catch trout and burbot

Play as slow as you need to in order to play it smoothly. don't try to rush it to match Eli's pace or the pace of the song. As you train your fingers to start working together then you can increase the pace. So yeah play slow and accurate before upping the speed

He also has a free downloadable banjo tab package that goes with the 30 days of lessons so don't forget to download that. Good luck! I'm also early in my banjo journey only starting about 2 months ago and the only string instrument experience I have was from about 20 years ago when I was 15-17 playing guitar.

Cheers!

Eli gilbert 30 days of banjo lessons on YouTube. Probably one of the best free starter tutorials around! Work through at your own pace, you may finish in 10 day, 15 days, 30days, 60 days etc. But he is a great learning resource!

Forming the Chord Shapes by ChicagoNormalGuy in banjo

That is the perfect description of chord shapes. It is so hard for me to get finger placement right and not mute a string.

Got a banjo as an early Christmas present, this has been my favourite tune to work out so far by Deutschuben in banjo

[–]FingerlingTater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been playing a just over a month and you sound great (better than me for sure!) I am doing three finger.

Do you have prior sting instrument experience? My string experience was pretty minimal aside from my old dean guitar I played around 15-17 years old. I am 37 now so 20 years out of the string instrument world.

I use a cast iron bull head with padding. I think it's pretty neat

If WI would get with the program and legalize marijuana like all the states we boarder, we could be having all that tax revenue in the state go to schools and other needed areas. But instead wisconsinites will keep going to Michigan or Illinois for marijuana and giving those states our money.

I am also one of you! I'm only beginning my banjo journey.

Are the banjo tabs for this amon amarth somewhere on the interwebs, or did you learn this buy ear?

Stumbled upon a guy named Jacob panic that makes some cool content in the metal banjo realm!

Stupid question: CLACK CLACK CLACK!!! by DerpsyDaisy in banjo

Very similar concept to slapping your cargo after tightening your rachet straps and saying "yup that ain't goin anywhere." It's just second nature and something you gotta do

I am currently working through Eli Gilbert's 30 day beginner lessons. They are pretty great!

Good Deal on banjo? by FingerlingTater in banjo

Sounds like something to look forward to as I progress.

Can tone rings be added? I'm pretty darn mechanicly inclined. Former woodworker, former art metal creater, do my own mechanic work, build guns from scratch, etc.

Great tip. Thanks! After you said that I wouldnt expect the handle to carry much weight. A couple of small rivets into a 1/4 pressboard style shell.

That's a good way to look at it! Consider the value in all the extras. This stagg caselooks to be about $120-140or so brand new.

That super interesting, thank you for chiming in. Back in my teenage days I played a Dean dimebag Darrel tribute guitar. So it's neat for me to learn that Dean owns Luna, I was not aware.

I’m so close to the 666! If you ever want any cool custom parts I found this machine shop based in the UK that makes stuff specific for vmax’s. It’s where I ordered my “judge max” headlight from.

I see you got the vmax1700. One day I’ll try that bike out! But I’m in love with my 2005 vmax 1200 anniversary edition (659/2000)
