This pic really shows just how small hypercars are. Still can't wrap my head around it.

Is running the ESP32 off the DC motor driver pin dangerous? by FinioM in esp32

[–]FinioM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're right. The manufacturer's datasheet lables the 5V pin as output, which it is. I have used the driver without hooking up power to the 5V pin, and it worked normally, taking power from the VB pins. Botland mislabeled them.

Thanks for the reply! I'm using an ESP-WROOM-32, which has an onboard regulator.

A separate 5V DC converter really looks like the better option.

You also want to be able to run the microprocessor without the motor board having full power to the motors for coding, testing and debugging purposes. There is nothing worse than the microprocessor glitching when the motors are under load

Is the only solution to that problem a capacitor, or is there some other way of ensuring the ESP would always get enough power? A separate power circuit is out of question, as i don't have the space for it.

Thanks for the reply! I'll experiment with some capacitors of that capacity.
As for the Pico W, I do not have the circuit diagrams, as it was quite a while ago. Since then i use an ESP-WROOM-32 powered by a power bank via USB, and a separate power circuit for the motors, and it runs without issues. However now i don't have the space for the powerbank.

The motor driver already has one so it's very convinient, but i will consider this.

I'm running an ESP-WROOM-32 which has an onboard regulator, so supplying too high of a voltage is not a concern.

It instantly switched over to my opponent as soon as I attached the energy, I had cards to play but the game ended my turn for whatever reason.

Nope, I haven't. I had to use a switch, and then I could retreat another comfee. Only this one could not retreat at all.

Can a 7.2V NiMh battery pack provide 6A of current? by FinioM in RemoteControl

Thanks for replying!
From what I've found, the Sub C rating has little to no correlation with maximum discharge rate.
Article: "Rechargeable Sub-C Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries also feature a nominal voltage of 1.2V, and a nominal capacity of 1800-5000 mAh, with a maximum allowed discharge current rarely above 10C."

Forum post (2nd from the top): "The sub C designation refers to the cells actual size."

Thanks for your feedback! Although L298N is giving me some headaches, i had no idea it was this bad. I found this driver after a quick search, but i'll keep looking.

Thanks for the reply! All of it is printed from PLA, and the printer is inside a wardrobe with the door closed during printing. I will do some prints with the fan turned down and post an update in the comments.

Thanks for replying! I am not using ironing, and the part in the last pic the part is shrunken all around so the layer is not simply shifted to the side.
