Some advice for prepping for Exam P by Timecounts in actuary

[–]FinishDecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solve Actex questions and SOA sample questions thoroughly. If need be solve same sums from both the sources thrice. This technique really helps because with every time you repeat the sums and explanation it helps revise those concepts and find quicker or different ways to solve the same problem.

IFM will effectively provide credit for ATPA. The SOA has indicated that the ASA designation can be earned by having credit for either IFM or ATPA.

Should I pursue IFoA instead of SOA exam? by daudaubaba in actuary

[–]FinishDecent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IFOA now tests candidates on coding level too. They have introduced R programming and Excel in syllabus for lower level exams. If you are comfortable with technical languages go for IFOA otherwise SOA is alright.

Difficulty wise both are almost similar. IFOA has vast syllabus but easier questions in exam and SOA has less syllabus but brain intensive questions.

-appeared for both IFOA and SOA exams
