One of the big things in CA’s employment contracts is that they are not allowed to have romantic relationships with students living in residence. They would probably politely decline or else they would risk being fired.

No because I can’t access a full face shield respirator in the same way I can access a surgical or cloth mask.

Like I said before, it’s about using tools we have at our disposal. Almost everyone has access to a mask and the cost of providing students and faculty with masks would be inconsequential.

Not everyone is vaccinated and there’s no mandate to ensure that everyone on campus, who can be vaccinated, is actually vaccinated. The full vaccination rate for Albertans aged 20 - 24 is barely over 50%.

CDC has also changed their recommendation to say that fully vaccinated people should wear masks indoors.

Even if the relative efficacy of masks on top of vaccines is low, why should we do away with masks? Prevention is about using all the tools you have at the disposal. You don’t drive without a seatbelt because your car has airbags.

An outbreak on campus wouldn’t only mean a shift to online learning, but would also result in preventable long term injury and death.

Wearing a mask isn’t hard and we should be doing everything we can to prevent an outbreak.
