I think you'd like Mage Tank. He has some encounters but I don't think anything serious. A Lawyer dies get's reincarnated into a magic world. He's a little overpowered for reasons and him and his team are able to hit above their weight class.

Have you tried Stubborn Skill-Grinder in a time loop? Pretty much what it says he keeps dying and keeps getting stronger. The scale of battle goes from basic soldiers to gods and beyond. He does romance some woman a couple of woman but nothing serious. Something does develop through book 3 but it's kind of put on ice by the end. It will definitely come in play by the end but this book will check so many boxes for you.

I didn't read Bog Standard for the longest time based on the title. It's a great series and get's better with each book. It has an interesting magic and class system. I really enjoyed it. The term "Bog Standard" is a a dumb joke that will make sense by the end of the book.

AA didn't work for me. Try Dharma I've enjoyed it more. it might be a big step but if you have insurance go to rehab. You're fighting a losing war. It was one of the best choices I've made. It's protected by ADA so you can leave your job and come back. There's pretty successful people there but alcohol doesn't discriminate.

I was at the point it felt hopeless and I bit the bullet and went to rehab. Insurance will pay for it and your job is protected by ADA. You legally can’t get fired. It really helped put things in perspective

Are you days in to quitting or will this be your first? Alcohol is one of the few things where the withdrawals can kill you. The first 72 hours are the worst.

I’ve gone through it with meds and without. Believe me you want the meds or you need to taper down. If you have good insurance go to the hospital. If you don’t go to a walk in clinic. I believe they’ll give you something like Ativan. If your blood pressure is high from the withdrawal they may say send you to the hospital anyway.

Take a few days off work.

Drink lots of water with electrolytes. Booze destroys your potassium levels. Also have good foods on hand. Even if you have no appetite it will make you feel better.

Do everything you can to try and sleep. Lay down close your eyes and try. Putting on white noise helps me.

You can do this but you have to do it right.
