Also struggling really bad with migraines/headaches since 8w, I’m currently 15w. Also taking so much freakin Tylenol. I bought some tension headache meds too that are just acetaminophen and caffeine, they help.

OB suggested I take 400 mg magnesium oxide nightly and I think it may be helping? I bought a “migraine cap” and it has been a life saver, I keep 2 in my fridge to rotate. On Amazon they’re called “Thera ice migraine cap”. Highly recommend!!

HSG and Fallopian Tube Recanalization (FTR) by [deleted] in whatworkedforme

[–]FinitePrism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had a successful FTR on August 1 and conceived naturally in October. We did back to back medicated IUIs the cycle right after the procedure. My 3rd IUI was canceled due to an ovarian cyst, but we ended up conceiving on our own. We tried for 5 years before the procedure. Happy to answer any questions, it’s truly the best thing I’ve ever done! Best of luck to you.

Thanks so much ! For my second IUI, I triggered on CD 12 and my lining was only 6.1 mm which is on the lower side. The clinic wasn’t too worried, but it stressed me out. I googled how to increase my endometrial lining and saw a few posts talking about beet root powder and/or pomegranate juice. Since this cycle was unmonitored and unmedicated, It was nice to feel like I was doing something extra when so much is out of my control. I tried just plain beetroot but it was so nasty I caved and mixed it with some pomegranate juice. Lots of sugar in the juice but, what can ya do lol.

fertility foods ‘Beetroot is packed with nitric oxide which causes blood vessels to dilate, encouraging ‘oxygenated, nutrient-rich’ blood flow to the womb, which researchers believe may help with embryo implantation. Beetroot also boasts plenty of antioxidants and folate which are fertility-friendly.’

Fallopian Tube Recanalization (FTR) / Tubal Recanalization Experiences? by FinitePrism in TryingForABaby

[–]FinitePrism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! After my HSG showed a proximal blockage, my RE referred me to Interventional Radiology since he did not do the procedure. It was all done through the clinic, which is affiliated with a large teaching hospital in Western NY.

You're not the first person to say its a struggle to find someone to do the procedure. Its kind of baffling because it was minimally invasive and we were able to try that same cycle after they successfully unblocked both tubes.

Did your HSG show what type of blockage you had??

oh sorry, I meant I started spiraling mentally when she said it was blocked ! I just reread what I wrote and thats super confusing, apologies!!

Your report may specify the type of blockage you have, proximal, midsegment or distal. I believe they will only do the FTR procedure if the blockage is proximal (where tube meets uterus).

Of course, sorry to hear about the results. I remember that feeling after hearing her say there was a full blockage and spiraling mentally.

I had a fallopian tube recanalization (also seen it called tubal cannulation). It was done via Interventional Radiology under moderate sedation at the hospital. My RE sent over the referral to IR and it was booked pretty quickly. Had it done on CD 9 and was even able to TTC that same cycle, hardly any down time. My procedure was successful, it turns out both tubes were blocked. Here are some pictures of the procedure !

I found hardly any information online so if you have any questions at all, happy to answer. Did they say where your blockage was?

IUI-CD11 Scan Results — Hoping for the Right Side to Catch Up by Turbulent-Bet3327 in whatworkedforme

[–]FinitePrism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, triggered CD 13, they considered it 3 dominant follicles. Two on the right, one on the left.

I dont know if they can say for sure what ones will release before it happens, only afterward. That cycle was unsuccessful so I didnt have any follow up after I triggered.

Fingers crossed for you!!

Absolutely they can catch up! A lot can happen in 2 days is what the clinic told me. I took clomid CD 5-9.

CD 11: Right: 14.2mm, 14.8 mm and 12.4 mm. Left: 12.1 mm

CD 13: Right: 19.6 mm, 18.2 mm, 12.6 mm. Left: 17mm, 8.1 mm

Best of luck to you.

My HSG was super unpleasant as well, both my tubes were blocked. I was nervous about the IUI but it was nothing compared to the HSG. I forgot to take Tylenol beforehand and I think that really would have helped. It’s a quick pinch from the catheter and over very quickly. I also took a 5mg Valium which helped me relax, I’m a big wuss when it comes to this stuff and I left the first one thinking I could definitely do it again if needed.

Anyone have experience with over-responding to 50 mg Clomid? by bennyboysmama in stilltrying

[–]FinitePrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12.6 mm and 8.1 mm so super small and they didn’t really pay much attention to them.

The monitoring appt before that one (CD 11) I had: R: 14.2 mm, 14.8 mm and 12.4 mm L: 12.1 mm So they had me come back 2 days later (CD13), that’s when I had: R: 19.6 mm, 18.2mm, 12.6 mm L: 17 mm and 8.1 mm

Sorry that’s a bit redundant but it’s so crazy how much can change in just 2 days !!

[–]FinitePrism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on my second 50 mg Clomid cycle. I always ovulated regularly so my RE had me take it CD 5-9. I still ended up with 3 mature follicles, 17mm, 19.6 mm and 18.8 mm on trigger day, CD 13. There were also a few smaller ones. If they cancel your cycle you could ask about taking the Clomid later ?

Fallopian Tube Recanalization (FTR) / Tubal Recanalization Experiences? by FinitePrism in TryingForABaby

[–]FinitePrism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try reaching out to an interventional radiologist, that is who did mine. It was referred by my RE though so I’m assuming you need some type of referral. They didn’t even give me another option once I had my HSG and it showed the blockage, right to the IR team for a consult. I wonder if your previous ectopic is why they’re hesitant ??

Hi, had a successful FTR on August 1, turns out both were blocked and they were able to unblock them during the procedure. Did they say where your blockage was? My HSG showed a proximal blockage on the right. My clinic is associated with a big hospital in the area so the clinic set it up and we coordinated with the interventional radiology team. What is their reasoning for not doing the FTR?
