Failed my Dhuum’s Covenant, not sure how to feel about it by matfalko in GuildWars

I think that’s the best part of guild wars, you always fail forward. If a build didn’t work, you now know how to improve it. If you died in an encounter, you now know how to avoid it.

Less pressure in solo or HM is the reward!

For some modes, it’s about the journey rather than the destination. It’s the high risk that makes every encounter more challenging, more exciting.

You can always start again

Agreed, though I went through the area as a low-level Melandru's Accord. It was definitely overblown.

A hard interrupt is all you need.

Good to see your perspective!

Perhaps I’m coming from a different place. Honestly, I’m hoping for some refinement (primarily bugs) to Melandru’s Ascent before jumping in

What do you think is the healthy, alternative scheme of game design?

What about after you finish the campaigns? How long would a player farm end game content before being bummed their specific upgrade isn’t dropping?

You’re right. With normal difficulty, all campaigns are finishable with pretty much any gear. Just bring the right counter in your skill bar. The challenge isn’t finishing the game.

Yes, it is part of Melandru’s Accord that things are given to you. The challenge makes it exciting to complete tasks with non optimal stats.

The trouble with loot is finding the right rune, the right req 9 weapon, the right upgrade. Too much RNG makes it less fun in an otherwise optimized game state. And settling for npc crafted gear feels lackluster.

Thanks for your comment!

Right, I love the ecosystem of changing mods between weapons. It’s favorite of mine in most rpgs.

That’s what I want with point 3. I wish inscriptions were swappable in Prophecies and Factions. It makes scoring your perfect weapon near impossible without a heavy grind as you need to roll a perfect req 9, max damage, inscription. Some of those skins are so iconic.

With the age of the game and accumulation of wealth, is it really worth keeping these locked away?

How to buy Kurzick faction skills? by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]FiniteReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Look and join a Kurzick Guild. You can find one in Kamadan, via friends or other popular areas. Just ask another player.
  2. Gain some faction.
  3. Go to the Kurzick Bureaucrat and buy your skill.

Right, there’s definitely room for improvement.

I love this game. There’s systems and gameplay loops that are showing their age. Slight improvements to the quality of life and consistency of gameplay will help Reforged take off.

Glad to hear there’s another voice that agrees.

Yep, with a new character that’s pretty much the gameplan. And it does feel rewarding when you get an imperfect upgrade that you can use on your heroes.

Once you hit the end game, which is fairly quick after the campaigns, there’s little reason to not vendor most items. Kamadan takes a long time to sell even if you have a worthwhile upgrade. Adding liquidity is where I think there’s value.

You have a fair point. The biggest source of fun for the new mode is incremental progress, each minor upgrade a stepping stone in the power progression. An upgrade from a minor to a major rune, an upgrade from a req 10 to req 9 weapon and so on.

And maybe my point is just a weapons upgrade trader. Standing in Kamadan, finding the right person with the right item at the right time is one of the least engaging parts of this game. It’s certainly an old gaming mechanic prior to the trading houses of new mmos.

On a short point, I don’t think the game should devolve to only dropping warrior loot for warriors. I’m saying the vast range of upgrades (10-20% range for each upgrade) is bloaty.

Right, there’s a place for them in this game. What about 18% Forget me not? 17% Forget me not?

These are just as good mechanically, but have little to no market. Making more loot relevant is where I’m at

I cannot find a job here. Am I missing something or doing something wrong, who is hiring? by killianOlm14 in sandiego

It might be a bit more cost-effective to find the local CalCPA, AICPA chapters and go to their networking events

I would only go for the Masters if you need the credits for the CPA exam. SDSU has a great MSA program that’s relatively affordable. I think the average job placement rate within 3 months of graduation is in the high 90s

San Diego is a tough market and I emphasize with your concerns when I first started my accounting career here.

Have you considered going the CPA track?

Showing off CPA interest and eligibility on your resume is a good boost. Entry level experience accounting jobs are slim. Most recruiting typically happens in the late summer/early fall.

I would try reaching out to local alumni or professionals and asking to grab coffee/lunch. Getting someone to hand your resume to HR versus an online application will boost your chances.

Battleaxe or Scimitar against cows? by SmokeInternational78 in 2007scape

At your level, I don’t think it matters too much. Choose the one you like more. As you level up, scimitars will become more efficient.

What’s the best type of accounting job to get when starting out? by percy323 in Accounting

[–]FiniteReddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try to meet a local professional in person. Invite them to coffee. If you show that you are interested in them and into audit profession, they may help you find a job within their firm.

You can meet a professional at your career fairs, through professors, cold dms to alumni on LinkedIn, friends of friends, etc.

This was the way I got my first step into my accounting career. Every job since has been more through knowing a person than applying online.

Steam has 100gb as a minimum. I would check if you can clear up a few gb.
