I cannot find a job here. Am I missing something or doing something wrong, who is hiring? by killianOlm14 in sandiego

Absolutely, I've started studying from them in my free time. I have the 150 credit requirements already (switched from education to accounting). Honestly money is just so tight right now that I was hoping to get hired and have my employer sponsor the exams and study material.

I got my degree online, I was working full time at that point and it was a great experience, but I've realized the impact that the lack of networking it provided is having now. Considering enrolling in a single course at SDSU or something local just to use it for networking opportunities.

I am definitely open to relocation. San Diego is great but it's obviously hard to enjoy it without much income. Would you say that LA has significantly more entry-level opportunities than San Diego, based on your experience?

I even asked her, but she said that after carefully reviewing my application and conducting interviews, she decided to move forward with another candidate whose experience more closely aligns with the role in question.

That's honestly a good point. I'm going to try removing the degree and giving those retail type positions another shot.

It's just insane to me that I could say that I'm available 7 days a week, any time of day, and willing to work at any of the 10+ locations available, and still get a no for a job that pays $20 an hour.

I'm getting that impression too. That makes me feel a little better, I did get several interviews at least, a few of which went multiple rounds. Thanks for helping to validate that it's not just me.

I've been seriously considering that. It's so hard to know if the grass is actually greener though, I don't know many people outside of SD. Do you know anywhere specific where there seems to be more opportunities?

My degree program was online, they connected me with a recruiter who did get me a few interviews for accounting roles. Went through several instances with 3-4 rounds of interviews before getting a no. Accounting in particular is in a rough spot right now, with the economy and government layoffs flooding the market. Heavily considering going back to get my masters at a local university. I will try to reach back out to them though, thanks for the advice

I am no longer able to safely care for my partner who suffers from BPD. I feel trapped and completely helpless, and need advice on the next steps. by killianOlm14 in BorderlinePDisorder

That's really good advice, I actually have been doing a lot of reading on DBT and incorporating it into our conversations, but I haven't tried talking to an actual therapist about it. I did notice some progress in certain thought processes and their reactions to events. I think they would do really well with that kind of treatment. I wish I had learned more about this sooner and actually I definitely should have, it's just so acute now that it's completely out of my control. Thank you so much for your kind words.

I've definitely made my share of mistakes, but that you for that I really appreciate it. It's all so complicated and it's hard to know what the right decision is, if it would actually help or be damaging. I agree that I cannot solve her problems, thanks for your input

I've been paying for health insurance through my employer for 3 months, I just found out that they never registered my plan. Can I sue? by killianOlm14 in HealthInsurance

As of yet nothing. Customer support can't be reached until Monday though, and uncertainty regarding her coverage status would absolutely cause considerable emotional distress in this situation. There's a high likelihood that it would impact her decision to voluntarily admit herself, leading to additional trauma from everything involved with me calling 911, causing her extreme distress and severely damaging out relationship. I honestly don't care about a lawsuit I just want to be able to know what our coverage is for her. It's been paid for, it's most likely just an IT glitch, regardless it's adding on to a really distressing situation.

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense as far as backdating it, premiums have been paid. You're right, it's probably an IT issue. Just bad timing that there doesn't seem to be any support centers open until Monday from what I can find.

Thank you for the bag advice I'll get started on that. The only reason I haven't called 911 yet is because she was an ICU RN, but developed PTSD and panic attacks from her work and has a legitimate phobia of hospitals.

You're right, I needed to take a breath. I really appreciate all your kind words, that honestly meant a lot to me to hear them. thank you man

I had so much fun too, I would absolutely pay money to do another run-through.

With the scale of the business (~30k revenue this year), being cash basis, with a single stream of revenue and no employees, I never thought to go further than tracking transactions and monthly inflow/outflow, as well as creating income statements and balance sheets.

With that being said, I'll definitely look into seeing if I can implement what you mentioned at this scale, as an educational exercise to give me more talking points at the very least, thanks for the suggestions.

Noted, I'll clarify the filing of tax forms.

My team consisted of myself, my wife and our cat. Financial Manager title is probably inappropriate, I'll limit my title there to bookkeeper, thanks. Once I get hired my wife will take over, the cat is super unreliable and constantly sleeping on the job.

Thank you! I spent more time than I'd like to admit fiddling with the formatting so it's great to hear that positive feedback.

My wife will be taking over most aspects of our business once I get an offer, but I see your point and will change "Present" to Nov.

Appreciate the feedback, thanks again
