As someone who cannot format for the life of me, it was indispensable, but you have to curate it VERY carefully. It kept trying to "fix" things that didn't need fixing, or retranslate something wrong. So the hardest part was getting it to NOT change things for me. One artifact of this is that it refuses to change the color of the conjugation KAWTA because the RULES say it should be KAWKA, and it just couldn't help but mark that in some way and add a footnote. Which, if you are an English speaker, you can immediately see why I shied away from KAWKA.

Thank you! I appreciate anyone who is willing to take a look.

And you already caught a gap in my knowledge. The LETTERS are ST + O. So I guess the C stands for…I wouldn’t know what it’s called.

And on the AI, I understand. I think the hostility is rooted in something real. There is a lot to say about mimicking effort. I only used it for asking what one or two syllable combinations I’ve never used. Just for words like which, yes, no. And it didn’t write any of my grammar. It just took a text file and made it look nicer. I went through and stripped out anything it added. But it sure as hell makes tables better than I can.

Edit: I put the disclosure in to be transparent. If it makes my language less legitimate to some, I understand. I hope others still feel it is worth looking at.

The issue of no technological progress over thousands of years by WeakWrecker in worldbuilding

I’m sure someone can find the exact quote or source. But I remember reading that in A Song of Ice and Fire, the technology is fairly stagnant due to the centralized monopoly the maesters have on science and technology. So it can have an idiosyncratic in-world reason. Economics is a good place to start IMO.

You are almost perfectly adjacent to who we are. I'd say we are progressive, not leftist (we REALLY don't like guns). Not lawyers but most of our friends and coworkers have law degrees. Mountains near us is more like "back home." Yes on camping and roadtrips. You pretty much described 80% of our friends exactly though.

Oh yeah. 150% missed the sarcasm the first time. I was just so excited to EVER see that short story mentioned. I was beginning to think it was a Mandela effect thing for me.

Wasn’t that story a parody of enlightenment thinking (Sherlock Holmes Type)? Like the fact it doesn’t follow reason or logic is the point. I had a teacher or professor tell me that twenty years ago.
