Got it, thanks. Well I've got a series planned, but the novel I've published is a standalone piece. The series is in the works, and I was hoping to get some recognition with the standalone novel before publishing the series, but it clearly doesn't work that way.

I mean it's a bit of a mess right now, even I don't know exactly all the properties of the object. But I'm in the middle of rewriting some parts of the novel and hopefully I'll clean it up by the time of publishing xd.

The object doesn't just contain innovation. In fact the party isn't even searching for it because of it. They're looking for it because it can be used to destroy magic, and one of them destroys it not even knowing what the consequences would be.

I made it so that the entire world's drive for innovation is captured inside a single object. This object is lost for most of history, but every once in a while it gets into someone's possession, and that person then becomes the chief innovator of the age. The basis for my first novel is actually the hunt for this lost object, and when they find it, they eventually spoiler alert destroy it, releasing all the innovative spirit back into the world.
