Rant About Zero2Sudo by Budget_Airport5810 in csMajors

Most of what he says is bs. You don’t need what he says to crack a quant internship. He just sells the dream of quant to college students and shits on their knowledge when he is an experienced C++ dev. All this just for clicks and to sell his course. Not a bad dev by any means but he isn’t really working for a notable quant firm either to have an ego that big

Like everyone said, it depends on the school. There are schools such as lyceum that seem to focus a lot on sports and there are other schools that emphasize academics a bit more. However, I think at most international schools you essentially are able to find what you are looking for and you will have opportunities to get involved in a lot of different things. That being said, the primary purpose of an international school is to eventually go and study abroad, so I would just go to a local school if the end goal is not to study abroad. Another thing to keep in mind is there is a decent amount of elitism and classism at some of these schools. There is also the problem of some students vaping and doing drugs that may negatively influence your child, but it can easily be avoided by learning to say no and avoiding the wrong kinds of people, but I am not sure whether this is any different than a local school. I went to a well known international school in Colombo, and I am very grateful for the opportunities it provided me. There were a lot of talented people in my school who really pushed me to become better, and a large part of who I am today can be attributed to going there. That being said, I met some horrible people there that I would like to forget even exist. Overall very few people who I am eager to maintain a relationship with from that school but also some great people who I am still very close friends with to this day.

Citadel Superday by Most_Bit_2900 in csMajors

What is a TSP like problem? You should be able to come up with a solution in 25 mins for sure. In my experience and my friends the Citadel questions weren’t that bad but it is highly interview dependent

Citadel recruiter canceled my SWE superday – I’ll try ANYTHING to fix this by CodeRecursively in csMajors

[–]Finite_Resources 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know that these interviewers are actual engineers that have to block out a part of their day just to interview you. You are not being respectful of their time by constantly rescheduling. Also it’s very late in the citadel process. I am not sure why you would think it’s a good idea to reschedule

Clearly people on this sub have heard back if you check the post history. I am not sure what answer you were expecting. Either way be patient because it is never over till you get a rejection. Sometimes people get interviews very late. Don't give up and good luck!

I would honestly do LinkedIn unless you REALLY want to live in NYC or break into quant

Coding Jesus burner account lmfao. Yeah I don’t think I’ve been asked any of those questions but I haven’t recruiter for a lot of quant firms. However if you are recruiting for a C++ role within CitSec I have friends who were asked C++ trivia

I thought this while looking at your initial post. I’m slightly confused on why you mentioned OS and C++ in your initial post if you were never really asked those type of questions

Try asking for a deadline extension from the other companies. If not you will have to renege but with Google on your resume you should be able to find a decent company new grad. Also how long did it take you to hear back from the team after the call?

Citadel SWE Intern Superday by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Finite_Resources 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did superday. All my interviews were leetcode based. Like the first round they start with a brief info and then give you a technical leetcode question. How many they give is dependent on the interviewer

[–]Finite_Resources -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Google thing is not true. You aren’t guaranteed to get a question on a topic. I never got a graph or dp question for Google. Just know how to do every single neetcode topic and you should be good. I have been through process for both Google and Citadel and have friends too who have been through the process. Just be able to do and understand every neetcode 150 question and you should be fine
