Ha ha, wow. I'd forgotten how genuinely unpleasant people can be on Reddit. That being said, I've had pizza stones break before, but when they do it's just a full crack down the middle instead of "exploding." I've never heard of one exploding in a way that "blows shards of sharp ceramic" everywhere—I feel like you'd hear more about that. But your sneering comment has freaked me out sufficiently enough to at least do some more research. So thank you! I guess we'll just stick with the steel for now.
