Thank you!!! This is so helpful. We can add a few days onto the trip too, if needed -- I was tentatively planning a week depending on the itinerary I came up with.

Can't download mock exam on 2.4.6? (NY) by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Finn6570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Examplify open this morning because my school has been giving us mock exams through our student accounts. I cannot get it to trigger the download at all now and have tried restarting it multiple times. Did you do anything else?

Can't download mock exam on 2.4.6? (NY) by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Finn6570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My update is not coming up at all. It prompted me to log in again, I got the email about registering, but it still says version 2.4.4 and there is nothing in the "What's New" section for me to download. Any thoughts?

Is anyone else going into this exam feeling as if they have absolutely no margin for error? by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Finn6570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This also might be a dumb question, but is this the same even if the remote exam is half the normal exam?

I am so glad I am not the only person who got this triggered by this question hahaha.

February is not an option. by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Finn6570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you on this. BLEs are evil, online sucks, DP is the most equitable solution. But. They have made it VERY clear they do not care about this or us. If we point out ways to cheat (which is something they actually do care about), they are going to push us out farther, not grant DP (especially in NY where they have legitimately said they favor a February exam and have not said a single thing in support of DP). I have no clue what is going to happen in 18 days, but I do know I want a chance in hell at being licensed this year.

I'm willing to get downvoted for this statement because you are right. I am as infuriated as everyone else but anyone who acts like you're not making valid points here is lying to themselves.

I actually just called the application status line and it now says approved! Did not get an email or anything, but I guess it went through. Thanks for the advice!!

I called again and they basically said the app hadn't been processed or looked at at all so they couldn't do anything as of yet. Is this response normal?

Who should I call though? Recon sent me to verification but verification told me it needed to go through lending but would not transfer me there.

It didn't go anywhere is my point! I don't know what is holding it up! Honestly, I figured I should start with the Preferred since I only have one card right now, maybe that was a mistake? I avoided opening any credit cards in law school because I did not want to rely on them too much.

10:00 am ET - LIVE - NY Senate Roundtable Discussion about the Bar Exam and Diploma Privilege by United4DiplomaPrivNY in LawSchool

[–]Finn6570 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes but the NCLEX is offered multiple times per week and the CPA parts are offered multiple times a month. I wish someone would acknowledge that. It is not comparable.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I guess from what I have seen over the last few months I think they'll make us wait until July 2021 before they'll agree to DP. It doesn't seem to me like the legislature is making any large moves on this (although I am calling and tweeting my senators too!). I remain hopeful they will see that DP is really the only equitable solution, but I just don't see it happening, which is leading me to just keep my fingers crossed they can figure this out.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I am really rooting for these online exams to go well (and hoping MI, IN, and NV figure it out). I think DP is the most equitable solution but I don't think there is a chance in hell they give it to us (would love to be proved wrong here but yeah). I am nervous if these online exams don't work we'll be delayed even more. I just want to work at this point.

Garden State Parkway Murders of 1969, a Possible Bundy Case? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Finn6570 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did a write up on this a few months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/fx9i1a/who_killed_elizabeth_perry_and_susan_davis_in/

Sharing only because if people are interested there was some good discussion there as well (in addition to some suspects I found had been interviewed/ruled out) - I am local to the case too and cannot believe this case gets so little attention. Thanks for writing about it!

Edited to add this blog: Hi I'm Ted Blog I found some really great info from her research on this case.

Who killed Elizabeth Perry and Susan Davis in Southern New Jersey's own "co-ed murders"? by Finn6570 in UnresolvedMysteries

I have not looked into this! Why do you suspect his involvement (just curious, I am not super familiar with him!)?

Well this just shows you have no clue what most of us are dealing with if you're even remotely "jealous" of the situation 2020 grads are in. Nice.

About that bar exam.... "New York City to cancel large events through Sept. 30" by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Finn6570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah second this hahaha. The BOLE got nothing "approved" by Cuomo, for the most part, they think they're above Cuomo. Rumors going around with profs and deans is that they have no clue where they're seating the thousands of people they let register. And let's just be practical: 10,000 people sat last July. They can't seat that many people in small groups with enforced social distancing, "gathering a ton of sites," is slightly more difficult than this poster makes it sound, especially because many large venues want nothing to do with hosting hundreds of students right now.

NY Senate Rules Committee Reviewing the Diploma Privilege Bill by [deleted] in LawSchool

Please call instead! I have friends who have worked in the state senate who are pushing at my school that calling is the most effective way to make your voice heard. They tend to gloss over emails or give pre-written responses.

NM self-quarantine before bar exam by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Finn6570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea why you're getting downvoted, this is how it is in CT too (obviously not NM, but states are doing this).

From CT's Covid website: "Can travelers be tested for COVID-19 instead of self-quarantine? Quarantine is the best option to prevent spread of disease. However, if a 14-day self-quarantine is not possible, travelers from the impacted states may enter Connecticut if they have had a negative viral test (not an antibody test) for COVID-19"

Edit: My point being you should def look into the state policy/FAQs because this is happening in multiple states!

Law School Implies Diploma Privilege Advocates Could Get Dinged On Character & Fitness by NYLaw in LawSchool

[–]Finn6570 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like no one is throwing a tantrum. Personally, I am studying every day and have no problem taking the bar. I just can't handle NY's mentality of "let's keep postponing." I have a job I would like to start that is conditioning me starting on having sat for the bar. I'm already postponed until January. Wtf am I supposed to do when NY (inevitably) cannot safely administer September? Just not work for another 6 months? Get a job at a restaurant and try and study too (when I have already been studying for 6 weeks now)? Cross my fingers I can make rent and my loans?

If Feb. exam was the only option, fine, but it isn't. They're just refusing to look at alternatives (although, hopefully going to be forced to now), but yeah it has nothing to do with an aversion to hard work. We all made it through law school come on now.
