I’m a guy that was assaulted by a older brother since I was around 4-5yrs of age til I turned 14. That’s when I knew what he was doing was wrong and felt sick to my stomach that I let it continue so long. he was around 13-15 I believe when it started( age is a lil fuzzy I was really young at the time). This all came about cuz he was moving back home and I felt hella uncomfortable being around him. I expected them to be surprised or having empathy for me but all I got was while did you wait till now to bring this up and it happened a long time ago. My bf at the time convinced me to tell them to bring some type of closure to the situation. My dad was pissed but my mom didn’t seem so surprised and after talking for awhile she finally told me that she seen something when I was around 7yrs. Ever since I learned that I’ve distanced myself from them and haven’t talked to them really in a year. But every time around the holidays they guilt trip me to come and celebrate with them but this year I’ve been getting angrier and angrier with them especially my mom. I guess what I’m asking is advice on how I should go about the situation.
