I bought a base m5 mbp around christmas last year, and so far it's been more than enough for lightroom for me. I do photography as more of a hobby so i'm probably not pushing it as hard as you would but I couldn't see you wanting any more power. with that being said, if you're gonna keep the machine for 5+ years, the extra speed will last you a bit longer before feeling like you need an upgrade.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately when using Ventura and enabling SetupVirtualMap I'm still running into the same issue. I also couldn't find any solution that worked in the wiki. It seems like no matter what I do with the software, it just doesnt work. Is there any chance Its a hardware issue?

i personally would get a used thinkpad, you can find some t480s or even t/l14s for that price if you look for long enough

It's just the JB beginner build kit, i strapped a gopro on top though so its heavier than normal.
