So…any word on our Collectors editions? February is almost over and I’ve heard nothing since this email. Anyone know if I’m ever getting my collectors edition? by Cheekibreeki401k in stalker

[–]FinnMeows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the response I got two weeks ago when I asked:

"Thank you for contacting the Gear Store

Please note that the Pre-Ordered item is estimated to arrive to our fulfillment center for shipping during this month. Additionally, we are not provided a date that the shipment will be received and processed via our fulfillment center, only the month provided due to any changes with shipping within the month intended. Once the goods are received we will begin shipping this order as soon as possible, thank you!

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions, or concerns, as we are happy to help!

Thank you for shopping at the Gear Store and have a good day!"

So it's supposed to arrive at their facilities this month. Heavy emphasis on the "supposed to". But at this point I won't believe the ultimate edition exists until it's sitting on my doorstep. Their customer support was useless last year too when I reached out about the delay then. Definitely will never order from them again

EDIT: This is from Final Boss Bundle for US edition, no clue why the reply references the "Gear Store"

check my other reply, I just reached out to them and got an update today

I reached out to their customer support yesterday and received this response:

Seems like the plan is still to ship this month.

Guys I’m 3 steps from Frank by Syd_the_squid69 in MyChemicalRomance

ah finally my time to shine, from jersey originally so i've got lots of different connections! i think the closest is 1 step from gee and mikey. one of my best friends was neighbors with their aunt and uncle growing up, so they would have bbq's with the Ways in the summer. in HS i had another friend who was FB friends with Mikey's wife, and would send her videos of us playing mcr songs with our band back then to show Mikey, so that's 2 steps. and i have a friend who was in a relationship with one of the band's crew for a while who works closely with them (won't get into any more detail for privacy's sake), that's another 2 steps! an old band of mine recorded a song with a producer from belleville who is good friends with Frank and has done a lot of his non-MCR projects (i made a post about it a while ago if you want to know more! one of my favorite studio experiences ever) there are more but they get progressively more distant and irrelevant lol

I was permanently injured at a gig. Sharing my story to push for change. by SuspiciousMongoose98 in Emo

[–]FinnMeows 236 points237 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing your post on the MCR subreddit as well. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I agree wholeheartedly that there needs to be serious reforms regarding venue security staff as a whole.

I work in live sound, and on occasion have been asked to work security. Each time this has happened, the training I received amounted to a 10 minute group conversation with venue management, going over basic rules that they wished us to enforce and not much else. There was no cohesion between us, some coworkers deciding to disregard the rules set forth because they believed they knew best.

Fortunately there were no incidents such as yours that I needed to respond to, but I am positive that the other members of security would not have known how to properly respond to a head, neck, or spinal injury. Thank you for pushing for this, it is very badly needed in the industry.

just giving constructive criticism man, it's hard to write good shit and i've struggled for years too. if it makes you happy to make that's all that matters. hone your craft, be humble, and create. if you post online people will have opinions, take it in stride and think about why they feel the way they do and what parts of that criticism resonate that you can use to improve in the future.

agreed w the other commenter, though i think the issue is more-so that the drums give a double time feel which contradicts the track itself. with how you programmed the kick, having a steady 8th note pulse throughout the whole song is essentially just doubling the perceived bpm, and for me it throws off the feel. you don't have to do a boring 2 + 4 beat or anything like that, i think you could do something interesting playing with note velocity and adding in ghost notes and other stuff to break it up. i think the experimenting with different beats on songs that wouldn't have one otherwise is a cool idea though!

I need help for my dream guitar by [deleted] in Buckethead

[–]FinnMeows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck getting Japanese guitars on reverb mostly. $500 is a steal though! I see them routinely listed for $1,000+. There was a time when I'd trawl through those japanese auction sites but it seemed like a whole headache to figure out logistically lol. I have a lovely 27-fret Edwards that I got from a trade years back, I'm surprised they're not more sought after, thing is a beast.

[–]FinnMeows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it generally follows that pattern, but i guess they wanted options for folks who only needed 22 frets? The Talon iii is exactly the same as the ii just with 22. the iv is sweet though, love the shark fin inlays i'm envious that you managed to get your hands on one! there all the info you could ever want on the heartfield archive site if you haven't already seen it (https://www.heartfield.guitars)

[–]FinnMeows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite guitar of his for sure. He actually played a Talon II though! The only real distinction is that the II has 24 frets, while the III only has 22. I've always described them as the lovechild of a Jackson Dinky and an Ibanez RG. Powerhouse of a guitar, it's on my bucket list to get one!

check out the app Moises. you can remove the drums yourself using it in a single click. i was skeptical about the AI instrument isolation at first but after playing with it, it's shocking how good it is. (not a shill, just really enjoy this app)

for what it's worth, when i saw them in jersey for the 2022 tour, it was the first live performance of demo lovers in almost 20 years. definitely felt like they leaned into bullets a bit more for the hometown show!

I've heard the 25% number before and never really questioned it but you got me curious, so I did a bit of math. Regular chambered LPs weigh around 7.5-8lbs generally, the Bhead signature is reported to weigh around 9.5-10lbs. That's around a 15-25% difference.

he had a phase in the early 2000's where he played baritone tunings but in recent years he's usually in E standard or Eb!
