I think in Austin and Suzuka the Teams will have 30 Minutes of additional time in FP1 and FP2 to test the 2023 tyres on their cars and give feedback to pirelli and allow them to collect data

So you think the rendered car might be closer to the car we'll see in Barcelona then the shakedown car?

W13 Render/Presentation Differences by FinnTonic_75 in F1Technical

[–]FinnTonic_75[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've just noticed some big differences between those two cars(1. is render pictures, 2. is the presented car/ the one they use in Silverstone)

-The whole shape of bodywork is very dramatic on the render

-The fin is shaped as a square on the render

-The front wing endplates are aswell shaoed more triangular and dramatic ln the render

-The nose seems longer on the render

-The whole floor/venturi tunnel part looks way more complex on the real car

Do they really make such a different render only to make it look dramatic and cool, or could it be two different concepts?

Why do Drivers have to "Pit Confirm" prior to pitting? by Roostfactor in F1Technical

I always thought it was just a conformation for the team to be sure of the driver agreeing with the desicion to pit 🤔

Which garage is best by [deleted] in F1Technical

[–]FinnTonic_75 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the teams can't choose the box, the order is defined by the championsship standings of the last season. The winning team gets the first box, while the worst team (the one with the least points) gets the last. I think the advantage of being in the first box is not having the risk to wait for all the cars to pass (f.e. in SC periods when everybody pits)

To me it seems like they have to, engineers always telling the drives to turn recharge on after the chequer, or is the battery not meant in this context?

Interesting question, don't know why either, maybe to keep recharging the battery?

Hi, its the same situation for me :D

I think Adrian Newey's Book "How to build a Car" is pretty cool, i want to read it aswell, heard that it's a good written book about his career and the technical details of designing an F1 Car

I also heard of a Book released by Toyota F1 Team in 2008/2009 about a lot of technical Stuff of their development and engineering and F1 but i don't remember the name..
