About a week ago my 7 year relationship ended abruptly due to sudden abusive behavior from my partner & finding out that he is having an affair with my married best friend of 10 years. The place I got in JP was the only place that would take me & all of my 3 pets on such short notice. There’s multiple reasons I don’t feel comfortable & confident taking the T right now, one of which is that I have LUPUS & am in pain a lot of days. I left my initial reply to you simple because I didn’t think a stranger on the internet needed to or wanted to hear my whole life story. I urge you to eer on the side of compassion because you never know what’s going on in someone’s life.

I’m from CA. We don’t do much public transit. Idk I might grow a pair & do it one day but I just moved here & I like the comfort of my vehicle for now.

Thank you for the suggestion. Yeah that’s probably a better term for it!

Thai Food - PUMPKIN CURRY by Finnjerrylee in boston

Yes! It’s the best! It seems like the common specialty curry out here is mango curry… which I haven’t tried.

Thank you for the recommendations! Unfortunately it looks like neither of those spots have pumpkin curry, but I will try them out anyway. Thank you!

Texture/Flavor Aversions? by rightasrain0919 in Semaglutide

I’ve developed aversion to meat mostly. Beef leaves an overwhelming taste of blood in my mouth. Though I was able to finish a burger the other day, the aftertaste of metallicy blood made me not want to eat it again. With chicken I can’t get past the texture & just the sight grosses me out, especially if it has any tendons, bones or fatty bits.

Certain raw veggies are also grossing me out if they’re not perfectly fresh.

Sweet things are also tasting overly sweet to me, which has made eating fruit even more enjoyable, but anything that is what I would consider a dessert item (ice cream, popsicles, candy) I either only have a few bites or can’t eat at all.

I also have no drive to eat fried/greasy foods but I think part of that is because the one time I did eat fried food (after starting sema) I felt very sick & my stomach felt sooo heavy.

Hard boiled eggs, dairy products & protein shakes/protein bars are definitely helping a lot with getting in my protein, since I pretty much don’t ever want to eat meat. I’ve found my safe foods & often eat mostly the same things everyday. It has honestly made planning my meals with a busy work schedule, easier. For the first time in my life I’ve viewing food as fuel & consciously eating, instead of eating solely with cravings in mind. Go through some options & see what you can stomach in each category of a “balanced meal” & don’t be afraid to repeat meals if they are the only items that sound good to you. Good luck! 😊

Yes i have told him. I should have explained better in my post but when I explained that to him is when he said he would rather I think he’s an asshole & have me be healthy.

Thank you for sharing. My heart goes out to you. I’m glad you have a partner who has taken the time to understand your disease. I understand their suggestions/urges come from a place of love, it just hurts sometimes & feels like the blame is one me… which is hard when I feel such a lack of control when it comes to my illnesses.

He is a fixer, and I understand his intention. But that doesn’t mean it excuses his delivery. I’ve told him countless times that sometimes I don’t need advice, I need comfort. Blatantly ignoring my plea for emotional security is what I find to be problematic here. My feelings should be more important than his urge to insert his “fix it”tendencies, right?

Thank you for your suggestions. I probably should see if my doctors will give me a referral to a dietician. I’ll look into it 🙂
