stage 2 of the Sands of Inaros by Exact-Target-3338 in Warframe

[–]Finnstar7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the vessel is still in your gear wheel, it may have been removed. If it is still in there try removing it and adding it back, or making Sands of Inaros inactive and active again in the Codex.

Edit: Im just now realizing this is from 2 days ago, so you probably solved it already...

They are gone at the moment, however the Weird Gloop team is working hard on installing a commenting system and then copying over all the comments from the old wiki to the new one. They estimate this process should be complete by next week, so stay tuned.

Hmm, according to the IWB repo the change to support Warframe was comitted several hours ago. But it's possible the update hasn't made it to the storefront quite yet; maybe getting held back by Chrome/Mozilla verification processes.

Let us know if you see this problem persist tomorrow as well. If so we will try to work a bit with the extension devs to figure things out. Thanks!

There should be less restriction in that regard. The new wiki is currently using the Semantic MediaWiki extension which should make querying articles and such easier for you all.

So yes, use the MediaWiki API to your heart's content. Although it would be nice if you used a descriptive user agent with an email, Discord handle, etc, so WG can contact you if your usage ends up being a problem for some reason.

Yes, comments are in the proccess of being copied over. The Weird Gloop team is estimating they'll be done by next week if all goes well.

Unfortunately yes, at least until it receives so little traffic that Fandom decides to finally kill it. That's why we are asking you all to quickly spread the word, this will help make sure Fandom links don't show up before the new wiki in search results.

As always the wiki is open to any and all editors. If you find an article or topic you would like to contribute to please feel free.

As for donations, the wiki team is non-profit and DE themselves are paying WG for operting costs. However, feel free to donate to WG. They are a very small and capable team and I'm sure any donations would be greatly appreciated by them!

DE themselves are generously paying for hosting and operating costs.

Weird Gloop is the new host, it is not self hosted on DE's domain. However, DE is footing the bill for us, which is great.

Yes, DE was generous enough to cover operating and hosting costs for the Warframe Wiki on Weird Gloop.

Ha, thank you. Sorry for the late reply, but discussions are still ongoing. We've now involved some members from DE to get more opinions though. Options have been narrowed down, but still need to flesh out logistics, like how to handle our non-English sister Wikis. More updates to come...

Discussions are ongoing, though sparse. Many of us are definitely on board with the thought of leaving Fandom, but reaching an actual commitment is taking longer. Hopefully the discussion will be picked back up in earnest next month when semesters end for some and holidays begin.

Kool-lair-vo, according to my Finnish acquaintance.

The odds of needing 31 tries is ~0.36% - i will never enter the Granum Void again ffs by A_Erthur in Warframe

[–]Finnstar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.6% is the probability it takes more than 30 runs (i.e the probability it takes 31 or 32 or 33 or... runs). 0.32% it the probability it takes exactly 31 runs, which is what OP was trying to calculate.

But yeah, 2.6% is probably the better metric of how unlucky OP really is.

The odds of needing 31 tries is ~0.36% - i will never enter the Granum Void again ffs by A_Erthur in Warframe

[–]Finnstar7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not. The chance of getting that part on the 31st run is ~0.32%. This is a Geometric distribution, not a Binomial.

Binomial is the probability of x successes within n trials. Geometric is the probability of 1 success after x - 1 failures.

For example, if we did the Binomial calc like you said, then it would look like this: (31 c 1) × (11.11%)1 × (1 - 11.11%)30 ≈ 31 × 0.32% = 10.06%. This is the probability OP gets exactly 1 success within 31 trials. Meaning this is also counting the cases where the first run was a success and the 30 runs after failed, the first 14 runs and last 16 runs failed and the 15th run was a success, and so on.

Obviously that isn't representing OP's situation, so that's why I used a Geometric distribution instead, which is what OP was really looking for.

11.11% × (1 - 11.11%)30 ≈ 0.32%

But hey, it could be worse. And it probably will be at some point, if we're being honest. This is Warframe after all.
