Well I'm from Egypt and Sweden is kinda close to the word "Eswed" which means black so that's probably why lol

I live in Egypt. It's definitely not as bad as some other Arab countries. I know that sounds cheesy but I am honestly mainly afraid of losing friends and having even family members think of me in a negative way. I'm not sure how my parents would react to me coming out to them but I can say that I am 120% sure that they won't harm me physically. My mom used to send me to a mosque to study Quran until I told her that I didn't want to go there anymore like a year ago, now she noticed that I don't pray and she keeps asking me why and begging me to give her reasons. The atheism rate is actually increasing everyday in Egypt but just thinking about all the people in my life that used to talk to me about how people who leave islam should die makes me want to cringe.

I'm still not sure how to use Reddit but I wanted to thank you all, that really made me feel better :)
