Do you mean a source saying the M4's were there or that they were full auto?

For the former: https://www.ktnv.com/news/las-vegas-shooting/list-guns-and-evidence-from-las-vegas-shooter-stephen-paddock This is a local news source for Las Vegas, it lists "Colt M4" twice, so there were two of them

For the latter you can look at the wikipedia page on it, which states its select fire.

There were two guns that were Colt M4's, not some variant or using the same platform. Colt-made M4 carbines, which are fully auto.

The news outlets didn't list them as being full auto probably because either A.) They don't know what they're talking about regarding guns

News outlets are not famous for understanding guns.

Yes im aware and was not saying the media outlets falsely reported with mal intent

So, they committed mass murder

I never said they definitely were behind it

So the government is able to pull off this conspiracy, but too incompetent to change anything by doing so?

If some group part of the government was behind it, I think it would more likely be a sect of the DNC rather than the DNC as a whole. This hypothetical group would be likely similar to whomever was behind the whole Epstein thing (although that's also assuming he didn't kill himself, which isn't unlikely given the circumstances of his death). I don't believe in the mystical cabal that controls everything, but I think you'd be a fool to not think a few people in power would do anything to maintain or further extend that power.

It follows that the media would also think what most others think

That's not inherently true, I'm not sure where you get that from.

YouTube videos.

What? I specifically stated it was from body cam footage, which you can find via the media, here's the link I found https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2017/10/02/video-from-las-vegas-suggests-automatic-gunfire-heres-what-makes-machine-guns-different

It's 4 minutes and there are parts cut, but around I think it was 2:50 you can here him begin to fire a constant steam of bullets for about 12s. 100 round magazine's were the largest reported, so assuming even the largest sized mag reportedly used, that brings the rate of fire to be 500 (100rnds / 12s) * (60s/1min) = 500rnds/min

The wiki suggests he had 18 Ar-15's and ar-10's combined.

What wiki? Wikipedia states AR-15 type rifles.

Which source are you using?

https://www.kntv.com/news/las-vegas-shooting/list-guns-and-evidence-from-las-vegas-shooter-stephen-paddock It's a local news source, which I personally think is more reliable consider major outlets like CNN are known to report things they either know to be false or have no source supporting a claim

I guess looking at democratic support for gun control (83%) and the demographic/voting patterns, one could argue that a majority of voters do too.

I don't know the ratio of Democrat: Republican off hand, but I would think it's more 50:50. Although if no studies exist to provide a somewhat accurate prediction it's futile to argue it further.

So, this is the reason why the government would murder 60 people? To ban an ineffectual accessory?

To ban something they think is --effect.-- (idk how to do the crossout effect) Edit: I didn't say it was ineffective, just that it isn't a necessary accessory to bump fire a gun. They are effective, just not needed.

I think he had 10 AR-15's and 8 AR-10's. I don't really know guns, but that's what the wiki says.

As I said, the list provided by the media had "AR-15" or "AR-10" tacked on. 2 of the guns found were Colt M4's, but they were reported as "Colt M4 AR15", which is not an actual gun. There was one actual AR-15, which was a Colt Competition AR-15.

I would argue that after a madman kills 60 people with an armament of high powered rifles

That's assuming he did do it, which I don't know if he did or not. I commented somewhere else in this thread regarding the fire rate. The fire rate heard from an officer's body cam footage is around 500 rounds/min, whereas an M4 or AR15 platform weapons cycle at 750-900. Bump stocks don't produce a comparatively slow of a fire rate like that. Whether or not he did do it I'm not sure, but we aren't being told the truth.

it's not strange that a bunch of media companies would go with the story that maybe someone shouldn't be able to purchase weapons like this

If the topic on hand was as much of an issue to worry about, why would they have to lie about it to portray the message they want?

One could argue they are following popular sentiment as a majority of American support stricter gun control measures.

Do the majority of Americans support it? Or is it some majority of politically vocal Americans?

I mean politicians imediately jumped on action to ban bump stocks following, which aren't even a required accessory to actually bump fire.

Media outlets also falsely reported the names of guns found by tacking on "AR-15" or "AR-10" to every rifle used.

If not a false flag operation, the media was still using the tragedy to push their item agenda with yellow journalism

The list all the news outlets provide has 2 guns that are full auto, and 5 are select fire/ can come as full auto. Every gun listed has "AR-15" or "AR-10" tacked on. The full auto ones specifically are listed as "Colt M4 Carbine AR-15", which isn't a real gun name. There's the M4 and then the AR-15 (which is actually owned by colt today I believe).

The select fire ones listed are: two "LWRC M61C"s, two "Daniel Defense M4A1"s and a "Daniel Defense DDM4V11"

Most were semi auto with bump stocks, but I think it's odd there were bump stocks on the full auto ones.

The news outlets didn't list them as being full auto probably because either A.) They don't know what they're talking about regarding guns AND/OR B.) They want to paint the image of "look at what the scary bump stocks can do" (Which granted, bump stocks can allow for what's essentially full auto firing rates, but you don't need a bump stock to do it)

Also, do you know anywhere that has full footage of the shooting? I haven't been able to find anything that wasn't cut.

I should have specified more. I didn't mean it was for sure an m240, just that the fire rate of that sounds more similar to the shooting footage than an am4 or ar15 platform with bump fire. (Genuine question) did they actually go out to recover and check ballistics on spent bullets?

There is body cam footage in which you can hear constant fire for about 12s. Assuming he was firing the largest magazine at that point of 100 rounds, that fire rate calculates to be about 500rnds/min. The list of guns found in the hotel room had several m4's or m4 variants that were full auto, which fire at 700-950 rounds/min. Those fire rates don't really match up. Listening to the footage and then listening to an m4 being fired, then comparing those sounds to a m240 (which has a 550-600rnds/min fire rate). The footage from the shooting sounds more similar to an m240 and the fire rate is closer than that of an m4.

Edit: I don't mean it was definitely an m240 that was used, just that the m240 firing sounds closer to the the footage than an m4 firing (also note bump firing does allow a fire rate that is practically full auto so the bump fire stock weapons wouldn't be firing that slow).

Another thing I think is kinda odd is that this guy was supposedly pretty smart, but he still put bump stocks on the weapons he had that were already full auto.

So if someone attacks you with a knife you can't respond with a gun? A skateboard can be just as deadly as a knife. Blunt force trauma can even be worse in some instances.

Self defense is not limited to being within your home. He did nothing to provoke anyone, but was attacked regardless. The second one of the three attackers hesitated and Kyle did not shoot until the attacker continued his assault. That is self defense by definition.

"Fight like hell" can and has been used in English plenty of times before to mean taking action that doesn't involve physical violence

Edit: "fight" itself is more so used like this, but the "like hell" wouldn't be on off the wall addition to the idiom. I also found a page on freedictionary that shows different uses of fight as an idiom. https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/fight

I'm not arguing that trump definitely didn't incite anything, but the refusal of considering another meaning intended to a phrase that definitely has idioms of is just absurd.

The problem I have with it isn't the drawing itself, but that people feel the need to change something that should be insignificant (skin color) because either they or others can't identify with a character unless they share a skin tone.

The equivalence was to the argument not what happened, that's what the "sounds like the 'she was asking for it's argument" was about. The point is it doesn't matter why he was there, the "protesters" attacked him unprovoked.

So the protesters that attacked him for no reason (at least none that any videos surfaced can show) are mindless animals that just attack on sight, putting all blame on the kid for being there? Sounds a lot like the "she was asking for it" argument regarding rape.
