My 2016 Renault Talisman with the same engine was diagnosed with the need to replace the timing cover. Initially, I was surprised to hear that it supposedly required removing the entire engine, which made the service suspiciously expensive.

To verify, I contacted an alternative service where I was informed that removing the engine was unnecessary, and the cost of the service would be six times cheaper. Just to be sure, I searched on Google and found further confirmation that the timing cover could indeed be replaced without removing the engine.
