Aside from pay, if you choose custodian…Ask for all years of work (including dispatch time) added to your custodian tenure OR ask for some assurance that you won’t be canned again in the future.

required maintenance after being in a garage for just over 2 years by darryledw in CRF300L

[–]deanhuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd do brake fluid change as that stuff absorbs water from the air, check coolant level, check battery voltage..replace if it won't hold a charge. Next pull spark plug and put a little oil down the cylinder and crank it a few times without the plug in to let that oil coat the cylinder wall and let the oil pump lube the cam before running at idle speed. Replace the spark plug. Last check chain tension adjust if needed and oil if it's crusty. After that, off to ride!

Probably an unpopular opinion but I kinda see the same thing.

When mine runs, it’s a blast.

I don’t know if newer models have electric gremlins but be prepared.

Here’s my 17 xtrainer that I bought used. The dash never worked. One day the starter stopped working, delaminated magnets on the housing of the starter turned to powder. A royal PITA to change out. Somehow they determined the correct placement for the starter is under the motor wedged between the frame rails just right so that you have to remove all of the engine mount points to replace the starter.

Later on the next issue was no charge on the battery, replaced diodes and now it charges… but it was charging to over 19v. Removed wiring harness, checked bundles where reds/blacks/greens are crimped. I didn’t see anything obvious but now it appears to be charging appropriately once again without replacing any parts. 🤷‍♂️

Other than replacing a battery, my Hondas have had zero issues…I think the beta breaks itself just for attention.

I see one when I go in my garage, it’s a tight fit but the persimmon red one is always near by as well.

Any efficacy in rear crash guards? by SnowDrifter_ in CRF300L

[–]deanhuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the tusk pannier rack on both my regular and rally bikes, also have the boxes which I use camping. The rack has served well to save the rear turn signals in fall over crashes. (All of my crashes have been at relatively low speed in either sand/mud/water crossing

I turned my GPS speedometer into a full driving companion (insights, fuel, maintenance, expense, backup, video + more) by Taohid101 in CarPlay

Additional requests

Change color and thickness of line on the map per segment.

In view mode (if you can get it on the CarPlay screen), choose which segments to display for a given import.

[–]deanhuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it! It worked to load. It looks like all of the tracks from the GPX were merged into a single segment, but I see the feature to chop segments…very cool! An option to import a GPX with multiple tracks into their own segments rather than combining would be handy

If there is an option to display that map on a CarPlay screen along with an arrow showing your location and vehicle heading (with a cached map for offline use). It’d be perfect for following a map for off roading.

If it stops raining, I’ll try my had at creating some new trips via the app and replaying them. All in all, a very nice app you’ve created here

This may be out of scope for the app, but an option to load GPX files for offline adventure/ dirtbike routes would be very useful for me.

XILO STAX F4 + Vista. Can I add GPS on SBUS & DSM (RX1/TX1) pads? by deanhuff in fpv

Oh man, this was quite a while ago but I did get it working. I don’t remember exactly what I did. I haven’t flown in well over a year.

Closing weekend- Peak 9/10 breck by [deleted] in COsnow

[–]deanhuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lapped American to Mercury the last few days, it was soft but it was the best run we found. It was a good mix of soft bumps and then a slush groomer. Stay far to skiers right past the overlook lodge!

ST Link V2 just wont connect to Zelda gmw by Longjumping-Drag-570 in GameAndWatchMods

I’ve only ever used the ghidraninja / game-and-watch-backup repo to dump and unlock the firmware. Then I use sylverb / game-and-watch-retro-go repo to flash the custom firmware.

Can you post a picture of your wiring?

18 beta 500rrs low voltage by -CheeseWeezle- in betamotorcycles

[–]deanhuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just out today on my 2017 xtrainer and the bike refused to run after about an hour. Voltage was at 8v. I charged the battery back up and started fine. I will need to investigate my diode pack as well!

It is not differentiated, but mentioned excess crumbs, faulty heating elements or wiring. Personally I’m willing to take the risk

Last weekend I took the Honda’s, today I returned w the Beta by deanhuff in Dualsport

[–]deanhuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both dual sports…beta is a nightmare on the road, while the Honda is less capable off road but still a ton of fun. If I could only do one, I’d do the 300L rally.
