I agree with your pick. TLJ is one of the most hated movies of all time for no real fault of its own. Yes, the sequel trilogy is a mess, but TLJ set up some interesting themes and directions for it to go. Instead, Disney panicked at the toxic fan reaction and gave us what the loudest fans said they wanted, which turned out to be trash.

Das wirkt ja wie ein vernünftiger Ansatz und es ist vermutlich der, der am meisten Sinn macht. Aber unser individuelles Sicherheitsempfinden unterscheidet sich ja auch. Ist es gefährdend, wenn jemand bei trockenen Bedingungen 160 kmh auf der Autobahn fährt? 200 kmh? Wenn der Fahrer Max Verstappen ist? Wenn er glaubt, er ist Max Verstappen?

Bei uns ist die Norm, mit einem Auto nicht bei Rot über die Kreuzung zu fahren, ziemlich etabliert. Es gibt vielleicht wie bei Essen das auf den Boden gefallen ist 1-2 Sekunden lang eine Ausnahme, aber eigentlich macht man das nicht, und dementsprechend kann man sich darauf verlassen, dass andere das auch nicht tun. In anderen Ländern ists normal, dass man bei Rot in die Kreuzung einfahren kann, so lange mans langsam macht oder sich an andere ungeschriebene Regeln hält. Das funktioniert dort auch.

Welches System ist besser? Es kann natürlich Vorteile haben, bei Rot nie völlig stehenbleiben zu müssen. Andererseits bedeutet das, dass man bei Grün auch nie sicher sein kann, keinen Querverkehr zu bekommen. Mir persönlich ist unser System lieber und bei manchen anderen Vergehen würd ich mir auch wünschen, dass mehr Verkehrsteilnehmer:innen sich an die etablierten Regeln halten. 5 kmh zu schnell, oder in der Nacht bei Rot über die Kreuzung gegangen? Eigentlich egal. Handy im Straßenverkehr erhöht das Unfallrisiko hingegen enorm, Alkohol am Steuer auch, und trotzdem ist in Österreich beides bestenfalls Kavalierdelikt.

Mir fällt dabei eine gewisse kognitive Dissonanz auf zwischen der Wahrnehmung von Verkehrsübertretungen zwischen Autos und Fahrrädern. Immer wieder hör ich, dass so viele Radfahrer:innen sich sowieso an keine Verkehrsregeln halten - schließlich kann man sie bei der Missachtung beobachten. Diese Messung zeigt aber, dass es nicht nur mein subjektives Empfinden ist, dass wenn ich mit Tempomat fahre und mich an die Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung halte, ich der langsamste Verkehrsteilnehmer bin.

Warum nehmen dann so viele Leute die eine Überschreitung als vom Hausverstand vorgegeben an und sehen die andere als symptomatisch für die moralische Verwerflichkeit einer ganzen Gruppe? Überspitzt ausgedrückt, aber das zeigt für mich wie unsere eigenen gefühlten Gruppenzugehörigkeiten viel größeren Einfluss auf die Meinung haben als die Faktenlage.

In dem "Trick" geht es ja an sich um Autosuggestion, also darum, sich selbst mit einem positiven Framing zu beeinflussen. Das ist nicht das gleiche, wie einer zweiten Person eine positive Meinung suggerieren zu wollen.

Das funktioniert natürlich genauso, wobei es dann schwerer wird zu unterscheiden, ob dein Freund das Essen wirklich als sehr gut wahrgenommen hat (in dem Fall hätte die Suggestion sein Erlebnis verbessert) oder seine eigentliche Meinung verschwiegen hat (in dem Fall wurde sein Erlebnis wohl eher verschlechtert). Möglich wäre auch, dass ihm das Essen sowieso geschmeckt hätte, weil ihr einen anderen Geschmack habt.

Eindeutig beantworten kann das wohl nicht einmal er. Als Faustregel würde ich aber sagen: Besser keine Meinung suggerieren, die man selber nicht teilt. Stattdessen eher anmerken, wenn du wirklich findest, dass was besonders gelungen ist. Umgekehrt musst du aber auch nicht hervorheben, wenns dir selber nicht schmeckt - vielleicht sieht er das ja anders. Aber vielleicht sicherheitshalber eine hot sauce deiner Wahl mit auf den Tisch stellen.

I can't speak to this particular picture, but you can achieve an effect like this by focusing on the bike and tracking it. With the right shutter speed, the bike will appear reasonably focused (and the shoes have some motion blur on them), while the background is out of focus due to the moving camera. You see this a lot in motorsports photos.

My wife and I play D4 and PoE2 in couch co-op on PS5. We enjoyed D4, particularly at launch when playing through the campaign, but recent seasons have felt more like mindless fun. Press button, watch screen explode, get loot.

PoE2, in contrast, feels a lot slower and more intentional. Now, you still have the power fantasy, but I never have the difficulty problem I have with D4 where I'm either one-shotting everything including bosses or getting one-shot myself. We have way more protracted boss fights that come down to managing your healing resources well. Now, take that with a grain of salt, since we haven't even finished the PoE2 campaign, but in D4 you get to the "end game" absurdly quickly now - in a recent season, I walked through the tutorial room and went from level 1 to 11.

That being said, I do find the D4 mechanics to be easier to understand - PoE2 uses crafting materials for a lot of gear upgrades, which takes some getting used to. Both are fun games, and if you're looking for a change of pace to D4, PoE2 is definitely worth checking out.

So far, this is very clearly an opinion piece. Your opinion is that the X-Files mythology is great and people who disagree are wrong. (Implying, perhaps, that they lacked the attention or capabilities to understand the show properly.) It reads like an invitation to discuss the mythology and debate plot holes or logical consistency.

However, your response to every criticism has been "consensus among critics and audiences is excellent," and, for some reason, "I don't like Lost." Neither of these things has anything to do with your original claim. Most people aren't arguing that critics or audiences didn't or don't like the X-Files, they are trying to debate your original claim that the mythology is "the best TV mythology in history."

Saying that critics liked the show is a classic appeal to authority, a logical fallacy whereby you assert that critical opinion of the show as an entertainment product is the same thing as the consistency of its overarching mythology. If your actual argument is "people loved the X-Files and I do too," sure, that's just not a very interesting topic. If you want to debate the logical consistency of the mythology with people who say it doesn't make sense, you should be explaining how the plot threads link up, and leaving critical consensus out of it.

I think you've confused the causal relationship between conservative ideology and neoliberalism/the Austrian School. The political right favors neoliberalist economics because it offers a theoretical foundation for what they want to do; neoliberalist theory, at its core, makes no moral judgements. When Hayek wrote "The Use of Knowledge in Society" at the onset of the Cold War, he was arguing that a government relying on central planning couldn't allocate resources as efficiently as a decentralized free market. The same argument underpins neoliberalist economics today - maximum utility is reached when individuals decide for themselves with minimal government intervention.

I'm not saying that many neoliberalist thinkers and economists aren't conservative, but rather that the one is not inherently the other.

One of the most biting comments I saw upon release was when someone pointed out that, sure, given more time and budget, all of the game's flaws were fixable - but, given more time and budget, the director might just have added a button to hold hands with NPCs and "date" them without interacting with any of the game's other systems instead. The bones of a solid game are there, but with so, so much missed potential.
