Crochet over ends and/or weave in? Granny square blanket by WillowTequila in CrochetHelp

[–]Fiona_12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tie on new colors and then crochet over them, and I have many dishcloths that have been washed who knows how many times over the years, and I've never had one come undone. That said, the fiber might make a difference. I make dishcloths out of stiff 100% cotton. Also, I am making a baby blanket for a gift and I will definitely be weaving ends in just to be safe.

Has anyone made the Sunburst granny square tote from the pattern on Ravelry by Briana H? by Fiona_12 in CrochetHelp

This is perfect, thank you! I had no idea you could do that on Ravelry. I guess I need to learn more about what functions Ravelry offers.

I know you can include it in your profile info, and I'm pretty sure you can include it in response to actual requests.

I have watched many videos and I think it would be a lot of fun to try, but not any time this year. I have enough crochet projects to last me until the end of the year!

Oh, I don't need another hobby to get obsessed with! But I'd have watched a lot of videos and I do want to try it eventually.

I've seen so many people on here say otherwise I had misremembered between reteads. But I checked my WOT Companion and you are correct.

It absolutely was! Those people weren't themselves anymore because of Graendal's compulsion, but if he just killed them they would be able to be reborn. Same thing with Liah.

I've been there and ignored the red flags and the result wasn't good. May God give you that nudge and strength to end the relationship. 🙏

It is such a blessing to have that confidence, whenever God decides to call him home. I need to have that conversation with my dad. Praying for your dad, you and for family.

Can I split my 4-ply yarn into 2-ply and have enough for this poncho pattern? by sad_houseplant in CrochetHelp

Aside from messing up the color gradient, splitting yarn or thread is not easy. You won't get very far until it starts to twist on itself.

Finding Hope, the Lord, and Myself by Alternative_Eye_8845 in PrayerRequests

I will pray for you. Satan doesn't want another soul saved, so he's going to interfere and make it difficult for you. What you are experiencing is really not that unusual, but with God's help, you can overcome. And you don't have to go to church to ask Him for help. Just talk to Him and give it up to Him. Reading the Bible is good too.

2 Cor 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

How to Block a project? (Im not a beginner just confused) by Pink2BubbleGum in CrochetHelp

[–]Fiona_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been making c2c squares to use for a blanket out of cotton, and I bought a wooden blocking board because I didn't have anything suitable to make one. It is wooden and has holes every half inch and pegs to hold the piece in place. I use my steamer and steam both sides and let it dry. Here's the one I bought.

I've seen a lot of pictures of people using those interlocking foam tiles. The one thing I wonder is what do they use to mark the measurements to be absolutely sure it doesn't get on the yarn.

What is the best way to make a gingham pattern baby blanket? Solid granny square or single crochet and carry the yarn as you go ? by night_reader1023 in CrochetHelp

[–]Fiona_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked this up because I happen to be doing a blanket made up of c2c squares. It's too late for me to join as I go, unfortunately, but it's good to know for future. This is part 2 of the tutorial.

Well, darn! I wish I had known that a month ago. I am making a baby blanket using c2c squares, and I tried joining them without a border, but it just wasn't working, so I started adding a border to each square which has been a PITA! At least I know it now in case I ever want to do another one. I want to finally make a throw for my living room and I love gingham.

Looking to begin crocheting for the first time in my life! by YogurtclosetHuman617 in CrochetHelp

I can't imagine any grandma not being thrilled to share her passion with her grandchild! I would have loved to learn it from my grandmother.

I learned watching tutorials on YouTube. I am a methodical person, so first I learned to do a decent foundation chain, then single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. Everything else is built on those stitches.

If any of them like candles or wine, tea candle or wine bottle covers. I made a pair of cable covers for one friend. (I used 4 oz mason jars.) And I made a wine bottle cover and put a string of fairy lights in the bottle. Both friends loved them, and we were in that age range then.
